Clinical Observation On The Curative Effect Of Acupuncture Combined With Massage In The Treatment Of Lumbar Disc Protrusion

backgroundIn recent years, lumbar disc protrusion has become one of the most important diseases in our country, which the lumbar disc degeneration is the source, with the proegumenal cause including acute sprain, chronic strain, etc. in daily life. The body annulus fibrosus can be broken by above causes, and then nucleus pulposus will gradually overflow from the breaking point and spread between lumbar disc and nerve root. Large amount of bone nucleoprotein as well as protein P will stimulate human nerve to a great extent. Combined with histamine, it eventually causes chemical radiculitis, which will greatly influence on patient’s life, work and labor. So for relieving the suffering of patients and social burden, how to select the effective therapy has become the domestic and foreign research hotspots. purposeWith the support of relevant theories and literatures, this study has applied traditional Chinese medicine treatment to investigate the therapeutic effect of lumbar disc protrusion by clinical trial design. Through the observation for clinical stage and total effect of acupuncture-tuina by five-step in treatment of lumbar disc protrusion, which will be compared with curative effect of single acupuncture therapy as well as single massage in treatment of lumbar disc protrusion, the study is designed to verify the best therapy in order to provide basis and reference for the selection of clinical therapies.methods90 cases of patients who conformed to requirements were randomly divided into experiment group (n=30) and two control groups (each n=30). The patients of experiment group were treated by acupuncture combined with tuian, while routine acupuncture and tuina were respectively adopted to treat the patients in control groups. The three groups were treated for two courses, a total of a month. The curative effect evaluation after course includes JOA scale for low back pain in Japan, QOL scale and McGill pain scale were used to be observation indicators to score at the time point of pre-treatment,1,2,3, 4 weeks of therapy and after 1 month, respectively.results1. Before the treatment, the difference in age, gender, course and each index scores of patients in experimental group and two control groups has no statistical significance (P>0.05), which can be compared.2. The extent and scores of JOA, QOL and McGill before and after treatment in each group have distinctly improved, with statistical significance in difference. The difference in comparison between each two groups has statistical significance, while the group of acupuncture combined with massage has the most significant improvement. ConeclusionThe acupuncture combined with tuina, routine acupuncture and tuina can effectively improve lumbar disc protrusion, as for the quality of life. Through the observation for these three therapies, the study has indicated that the effect of acupuncture combined with tuina is better than that of routine acupuncture and tuina. As a safe and effective therapy with obvious advantages, the acupuncture combined with tuina is worth to be applied in clinical practice.
