| The images of bird and fish are general in Shandong folk arts of different periods. For thousands of years, with vital passion and super imagination, Shandong people have created large numbers of artistic forms of bird and fish with the most advanced technologies and art media, such as engraving, painting, dye printing, knitting, paper-cutting and forging. It is said in an ancient Chinese classics that "Imitating all the appearances, reflecting their natural tinctures"(The books of changes). The images made up of symbols like lines and colors not only embody the accumulating ideal, folk culture, aesthetics and art tradition of folk Shandong, but also implicit the spirit and ideology based on them.As the pattern of traditional culture, bird and fish disclose the ideology, life perception and time spirit, which are traditional and historical as well as present and synchronic. The pattern which possessing distinct regional characteristic representatives the progressive culture of Shandong.Outlined by the progressing Shandong cultural situation, this research intends to explore the images of bird and fish in folk arts of Shandong with the aids of archaeological excavation and established academic results. Moreover, this research will also focus on the establishment, characteristics and the future possibilities of the regional arts ideology. |
