Socialistic Implication Of The Western New Social Movements

Since the middle of last century, especially after the "May 1968 events in France ", the political movements of Western society have undergone great changes. Traditional labor movement gradually dies down and new forms of resistance to capitalism surges. The ecology movement, new feminism movement, racial civil right movement, anti-war movement, anti-globalization movement together with some other movements constitute the main content of Western new social movement. How to generalize and interpret Western new social movement becomes a very important topic for the moment. And how to discuss the content of Western new social movement on the basis of grasping the essential characteristics and core demands accurately, correctly understanding the relationship between Western new social movements and socialism and analyzing the Western new social movements from Marxist perspective constitutes the central element of this study. This paper argues that Western new social movement is a new form to resist and criticize the late capitalism when capitalism experienced a new historical change and socialist movement at its low tide period. It has great significance and should be regarded as an important part of contemporary socialism. This article attempts to connect Western new social movement with socialist goal and propose a strategic thinking of mutual development of Western new social movement and socialism.This topic makes a study of Western new social movement as a holistic concept from the macro level instead of analyzing a particular from of social movements specifically and it grasps the Western new social movement as a whole from the Marxist perspective. Besides applying the Marxist methods and thoughts into analyzing and studying the problems of Western new social movement, analyzing the mechanism of Western new social movement from the height of social and historical change and the historical course of capitalism, dividing the development phase of Western new social movement on the whole, it analyzes the new features by comparing with traditional labor movement. With analyzing the core command and its characteristics of Western new social movement and exploring the relation between Western new social movement and socialism in the context of globalization, it emphatically analyzes the differences and contacts of the Western new social movement and traditional labor movement, the labor force in the Western new social movement, the diversity of Western new social movement and socialism and the influence of Western new social movement on Marxism. By analyzing the relation between Western new social movement and global socialist movement, exploring the socialist implication of Western new social movement and its connection with Marxism, drawing the positive factors and abandoning the negative factors, both socialism and Marxism can develop on theoretical and practical level. Besides ending in settling into the reality of socialist countries and analyzing the experience and lessons of the theory and practice of Western new social movement for China to build a socialist harmonious society, it puts forward suggestions and strategies pointedly with a view to developing socialism and Marxism better in practice.
