With the development of intelligent structure and intelligent material,the embedded technology has been applied to integrate textile fabric withmicrostrip antenna structure, which is called new type of textile structuralantenna. It can keep excellent electromagnetic performance, and has goodconformal characteristics, which is of great significance to militarily andcivilian applications. This dissertation makes a systematic study on severaltypes of antennas, including the the electromagnetic properties ofthree-dimensional orthogonal woven conformal load-bearing microstripantenna and the flexible textile microstrip antenna. The approaches toenhance antenna gain are proposed and their experimental verifications arecompleted. Three main subjects are included:Firstly, novel three-dimensional orthogonal woven conformalload-bearing microstrip patch element and flexible microstrip patchantennas are developed. The performances of these microstrip elements withvarious materials are analyzed in detail and compared, then how toeffectively improve the gain of the antenna is discussed. The gain of antennacan be increased by6.5dB with experiment.Secondly, a novel2-element flexible three-dimensional orthogonal woven microstrip array with parallel feed and a4-element flexiblethree-dimensional orthogonal woven microstrip array with series feed aredeveloped. The performances of the antennas under bent conditions aretested and discussed. A4-element three-dimensional woven compositesmicrostrip array with series feed are also proposed. The impact test areperformed on the three-dimensional woven composites antenna. It is showedthat the return loss and radiation patterns have almost no changes even afterthe antenna received the impact energy of20J, exhibiting the higher impactresistance and stable structure of the antenna.Finally, a dual-polarized three-dimensional orthogonal wovenmicrostrip antenna for comunication is proposed. Simultaneity, athree-dimensional orthogonal woven microstrip antenna is also developed tomeet the demand of the WLAN system. The performances of the antennasunder bent conditions are tested for two antenns. It is showed thatthree-dimensional orthogonal woven microstrip antenna is practicable.
