Local Governance Of The Sustainable Development In Resource-Based Cities In China

The resource-based cities are the type of the cities that they are developed with the industrial development in the cities. The resource-based cities exist widely in the world. The resource-based cities have played an important positive role in history. As the development of the resource-based cities and the transformation of China’s economic system,the resource-based cities are facing a series of complex problems,such as the economic problems,environment problems, social problems,and so on. From the twentieth century 40s or 50s,the sustainable development of the resource-based cities have become the focus of academic research at home and abroad.Academic research to the resource-based cities focuses on the filed of economics, ecology,sociology etc.The research on the sustainable development of the resource-based cities is lack in the management field.The core of this research is about the local governance in the resource-based cities in China. The research is guided by the sustainable development theory. The basis of the research is the governance theory,and the research object is the local government of the resource-based cities in china.The research includes four parts:Theoretical basis and analysis framework, profiles of the resource-based cities and the problems,the governance situation of the resource-based cities in china,suggestions. First, put forward the theoretical basis of the research:the sustainable development theory and the local governance theory,and construct the analysis framework of the research.Second, introduce the profiles of the resource-based cities and analysis the problem of the resource-based cities faced. Third, analysis the governance of local government in the resource-based cities in China.According to the analysis framework of local governance theory, the research analysis the governance structure, governance subjects and governance tools. The conclusion of the research is that the local governance of the resource-based cities are existing a series of governance problems,such as governance structure is unreasonable, governance subjects are simple, governance tools are lack of innovation. Fourth, put forward suggestions on the local governance of the resource-based cities in china.The main paths include:optimization of local governance structure, construction the polycentric governance mode, optimization and innovation of the selection and application of the local governance tools.
