Thin seam safe and efficient mechanized mining is a worldwide problem in today’s coalproduction. With the increasingly tense of coal resources, the loss of coal resources in the processof coal production must be reduced to extend the mine life. Research on very thin seam miningtechnology cause countries’and industry’s attention. This paper made investigation and analysis ofthe thesis of the actual occurrence of Huangsha Mine’s thin coal seam,then found stope numericalmodel of different coal seam in the same geological conditions. Analyzed and compared worksurface overburden movement law of thin seam and thick seams,and made the feasibilityassessment of mechanized mining of thin coal seams. Then made numerical optimization ofhydraulic support to make characteristics of the stent to adapt to the characteristics of very thinseam roof. Using fuzzy mathematics and optimization method, developed thin coal seam hydraulicsupport structural parameters of fuzzy clustering analysis and optimization program. Byoptimizing three machines supporting parameters,design a set of mining and support equipmentthat suitable test surface coal seam coal seam. At the same time with centralized control system,coal winning machine remote control system, PM32hydraulic support the electro-hydrauliccontrol system,make unmanned face be practical and achieved good economic and securitythrough industrial test. This technology has a wide application prospects in the Fengfeng Groupand other old mining areas of the country.
