| Objective:A portion of patient who received the implantation of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) did not response to the treatment. This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the clinical effect of CRT in patients with chronic heart failure in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of Zhejiang University, comparing the differences of clinical characteristics between response and non-response groups and the prognosis between sub-groups.Method:We retrospectively analyze the data of CRT-P/D implanted patients form January2006to December2012in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of Zhejiang University. All the patients received regular follow-ups(1,3,6,12months and once half or one year after then based on the patient’s condition),including NYHA class, left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), left ventricular internal dimension at end diastole(LVEDD) and state of survival.Results:204patients with chronic heart failure[141males and63females, age37-86(64.8±11.9) years] who underwent successful implantation of a CRT-P/D were included in this study. The response of CRT was61.3%. Women, QRS duration≥150ms, and left bundle branch block (LBBB) received a better response after CRT(P<0.05). Positive response and LBBB groups had better outcomes in cardiac functions. Positive response group had lower all-cause mortality than negative response group significantly, and females showed a trade of lower mortality than males. Conclusions:In patients with chronic heartfailure, women, QRS duration≥150ms, and LBBB had better CRT response after the implantation. Positive response and LBBB groups had better outcomes in cardiac functions, and positive response group had lower all-cause mortality. |
