Intra-industry trade has become the main form of today’s international trade and the important means of access to the international trade interests. Accompanied by the accelerating process of economic globalization, the size of intra-industry has been increased swiftly, so did the contribution to the world’s economy, this affects the growth rate and the volume of trade of the participating countries’ economy. With the rapid development of intra-industry trade, China’s further integration into the world division of labor and trade, its economic effects penetration into all levels of the domestic economy. What economic effect did intra-industry trade ever made exactly? How these economic effects affected the country’s economic development and the welfare distribution? This constitutes a logical starting point for this study.Based on these questions, the paper first review and summarize the advance outstanding achievements and research content related industries trade empirical analysis and theoretical studies, which also lay a good theoretical basis for the interpretation and empirical analysis theory behind. Secondly, followed by intra-industry trade the basic issues of meaning, measurement methods and segmentation methods, make the necessary rationalization of model variables and metrics defined. Thirdly, on the basis of learning the former researchers’ achievements of the economic effects of intra-industry trade, reconstructs theory from the two major aspects of the direct economic effects and the indirect economic effects, attempts to make a further detailed system exposition of its internal mechanism,. The direct effects include the effect of economic growth, the technological innovation effect, the effect of the transfer of industries and the employment effects. The indirect effects include the effect of human capital, the income distribution effect and consumption effect. These effects of intra-industry trade is not completely divided, they are all inextricably linked, may interact and influence each other. Fourthly, from the perspective of domestic, empirical analysis of Chinese agricultural products (mainly primary agricultural representative), the economic effects of trade in manufactured goods and services trade goods industry (2000-2010), and analysis by cross-industry, intra-industry trade to explore its role to the economic benefits. Fifthly, from the perspective of the country, analysis the economic effects of the Intra-industry trade data between China and the United States (2000-2010), China and the European Union (2003-2010), as well as China and Japan (2000-2010), trying to explore the internal mechanism of intra-industry trade contribute to the economic development of a country from a broader perspective. Sixthly, discuss from the macro level of the state, the meso level of the industry and the micro level of the enterprise, on how to make the targeted, operability, forceful, characteristics Suggestions, in order to improve the progress of Intra-industry trade of China. Finally, summarizes the main points of this article, and the further direction to the continue study.
