This study is based on overseas risk exploration special project from the Ministry of Land and Resources of China. The study is carried out focusing on structure feature of metallogenic rocks,Cu-Ni sulfide mineralized characteristics, contrast and interrelations of different parts, mineralogical characteristics, geochemical characteristics in the different parts of Hawk Ridge deposit, and discussed the sulfide enrichment mechanism and the metallogenic process of Hawk Ridge deposit. The study work can be summarized six aspects as follow:(1)The metallogenic rocks of Hawk Ridge deposit is a suite of hypabyssal mafic-ultramafic intrusive rocks.Metallogenic rocks are consist of three accumulated cycles structure and each cycle is included 2-3 of accumulated beds.Cummulatic rocks show a reverse order distribution characteristics from bottom to top that the density is increasing and the type of rocks varied from mafic to ultramafic.(2)The scale, shapes and occurrence of metallogenic rocks and cumulates in four parts of Hawk Ridge deposit is found out. From north to sourth, the thickness of cumulates and orebody varied from small to big firstly and then varied form big to small, but the mineralized intensity is increasing gradually from north to sourth.(3)According to the mineralogical characteristics, metal sulfides’ grain in mineralized glomeroporphyritic diabase is much bigger than the sulfides in pyroxenite and sulfides’ grain in glomeroporphyritic diabase in the north is bigger than in the sourth.Cu is almost contained in the chalcopyrite while Ni is contained in pyrrhotite, pentlandite, pyrite and some Fe-Mg silicate minerals and the ratio of Ni in pentlandite is highest between 40-70%.(4)Geochemical characteristics show that the metallogenic rocks of the deposit belongs to sub-alkaline series and show the characteristics of high Fe,low Al,alkalis—poor alkali, low Ca.Magma is originaited from partial melting of the upper mantle, but was contaminated by wall rocks.(5)S isotope show that sulfur in Hawk Ridge deposit is mainly from mantle, but some crust sulfur mixed.Re-Os isochron age of massive ores is(1927 ± 61)Ma in Hawk Ridge deposit.(6)The metallogenic model of Hawk Ridge deposit is setup based on studying the forming process of metallogenic rocks and orebodies, which explained the reverse order distribution characteristics of cummulates. There are three period magma intrusive activities which corresponded three accumulated cycels.
