The development of the marine economic activity is an urgent need to develop new resin for marine antifouling coatings.The two-component degradable polyurethane with tailored properties,keep the degradability with ester chain segment and also improve mechanical properties,are of fascinating potential application.This paper firstly tries to discuss its application and prospect in marine antifouling.The main results of this paper are included below:(1)According to the application requirements of marine antifouling,a series of polyols were synthesized,the relationship between structure and properties of polyols were investigated.A series of poly(caprolactone)segment(PCLx)were synthesized using ethylene glycol and different amounts of caprolactone,then a series of block polyester polyol(PCLx/PLAY)were synthesized using PCLx and different amounts of lactic acid(PLAy);a series of polyether ester polyols(PPG2OOO/CLIO/LAx)were synthesized using Poly(propylene glycol)(PPG2000),caprolactone(CL10)and different amounts of lactic acid(LA);a series of block polyether ester polyols(PPGx/CL8)based on poly(propylene glycol)(PPG)were synthesized using poly(propylene glycol)with different chain lengths and poly(caprolactone)(PCL8);a series of block polyether ester polyols(PEGx/CL8)based on poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)were synthesized using poly(ethylene glycol)with different chain lengths and poly(caprolactone)(PCL8);the star-shaped polyester polyols(TMP/CLx ? PER/CL12)were synthesized by polycondensation reaction using CL and initiator(TMP or PER).The structures of the polyols were indicated by using FTIR,1H NMR and GPC.(2)All two-component degradable polyurethane films were prepared by solution casting with a series of polyols and different crosslinker agents,the relationship between structures and properties of two-component degradable polyurethane films were investigated.The tensile strength and modulus of the two-component degradable polyurethane films increased with decreasing the ratios of soft segment,and the tensile strength of two-component degradable polyurethane films decreased with the immersion time;the Tgs of the two-component degradable polyurethane films decreased with increasing the ratios of soft segment,all the two-component degradable polyurethane films were at amorphous phase by DSC and XRD;the rough surface of two-component degradable polyurethane films gradually dropped off showed by SEM.(3)The relationship between structures and degradation properties of two-component degradable polyurethane films were investigated,the degradation kinetics of two-component degradable polyurethane films were also investigated.The water absorption rates and hydrolytic degradation rates of the two-component degradable polyurethane films improved dramatically with increasing the soft segment content,decreased dramatically with TDI-TMP and the ratios of[-NCO]/[-OH];the hydrolytic degradation rates of the two-component degradable polyurethane films improved dramatically with increasing temperature and alkalinity.The relationship between-ln[(Dt-1)/Dt]of the two-component degradable polyurethane films and time(t)were investigated.(4)The wo-component degradable polyurethane marine antifouling paints were prepared by mixing polyester polyols,the properties of the two-component degradable polyurethane marine antifouling coatings were investigated.The copper ion release rates from the two-component degradable polyurethane marine antifouling coatings decreased dramatically increasing the immersion time,the defined and constant concentrations of the copper and booster biocide from PU antifouling coatings were desirable at the surface of coatings for effective prevention of fouling.The adhesion strengths of two-component degradable polyurethane marine antifouling coatings were investigated.The rough surface of two-component degradable polyurethane antifouling coatings gradually dropped off showed by SEM.The distributions of copper in the cross section of two-component degradable polyurethane antifouling coatings were investigated by EDS.The marine antifouling performances of two-component degradable polyurethane antifouling coatings were investigated.
