Spectrometry and mass spectrometry(MS)are important analysis methods in analytical biochemistry. They have a wide variety of application areas including biochemical engineering, biological safety, environmental monitoring and a host of others.Flammable liquid is a kind of indispensable important compounds in industrial production, daily life and scientific research. In the present dissertation,a noval biomimetic sensor of nanoparticle-based cataluminescence(CTL)have been developed.Due to its main advantages of simple device, high sensitivity, fast response and good stability, the biomimetic sensor has been used for discriminating flammable liquid vapors. After that,by employing ambient ion sources five methods based on MS has been developed for analysis of flammable liquids.Ambient MS possesses several analytical advantages such as expanding the diversity of ionization mechanisms, simplifying the procedure of sample pretreatment and lower matrix effect. The origination of ambient ion source is a milestone during the development process of MS.The main contents of the thesis are as follows:1.A noval CTL-based biomimetic sensor has been developed for flammable liquids recognitions.By simulating olfactory function of animal, the biomimetic sensor which is a kind of cross-reactive CTL sensor arrays containing 10 kinds of catalytic nanoparticles for rapid detection and discrimination of 10 flammable liquid vapors has been developed. When the vapor samples are imported to the sensor array with carrier gas,the CTL intensity varies with the nanoparticles. The fingerprints of 10 vapors have been discriminated according to the distinct flammable liquid CTL response patterns through a linear discriminant analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. Two kinds of simulated actual vapors, originating from the combustion of carpet in the presence and absence of gasoline, can be effectively distinguished.2.A nanospray ionization MS(nanoESI-MS)for analysis of flammable liquids and their combustion residues has been developed.Under the optimized working conditions, analytes including gasoline, diesel and their combustion residues have been ionized and direct analyzed by the nanoESI-MS.The result shows that nanoESI-MS is a effective analysis method for flammal liquids by detecting target ions rapidly.3.Three kinds of paper spray ionization MS for analysis of flammble liquids and their combustion residues have been developed.Based on the classical PSI-MS,we develop a tip-assisted paperspray ionization MS,a electroconductive paper-assisted paper spray ionization MS and a net-assisted paper spray MS.All of them have been implemented for analysis of flammble liquids and their combustion residues by their advantages including high selectivity,no sample pretretment and fast detection.4.Pneumatic assisted infrared laser desorption ionization(PnAI-LDI)MS,the method for analysis of flammble liquids and their combustion residues, has been developed.By combining laser desorption ionization with a pneumatic device blowing surface of analytes, the target ions can be detected immediately and the efficiency of ionization have been greatly increased. The result shows that the method of PnAI-LDI-MS is capable of analyzing flammable liquids including gasoline and diesel and their combustion residues with certain stability. It is also expected that the pneumatic assisted infrared LDI-MS has favorable application prospect in the fileds of fire investigation and evidence analysis.
