In the era of rapid urbanization in the developing countries, our world is facing the challenge of global warming. In order to face with this problem, many developing countries have adopted the policy to reinforce the development of public transport. For example, in China in 2012,1755 km long metro lines were constructed for sixteen cities. However, the metro construction implies financial risks according to international experiences. Even though, the metro development in China is overheating. The main objective of the research is to study the structural characteristics of metro network in Paris and its evolution, and to apply the analysis for the metro network in Wuhan as a case study in order to give suggestions for its future development. In order to attain this objective, we have adopted the analysis of centrality structrality to study the metro networks in Paris as well as in Wuhan. The indicator Centrality Structrality (Centrality in short) is based on the simplest distance to reach the destination, which means a distance with the less turning to make in the road network. For the metro network, this means less changes of metro lines. The analysis results show us that the centrality analysis can help to indicate the relative importance of the metro stations in a network. The indicator of centrality shows as well certain correlation with the entering traffic of stations. This could help to support the urban planners and designers to evaluate the possible importance of metro stations in terms of entering traffic. Eventually, this indicator could be applied to analyze and compare different planning of metro networks.
