With the rapid growth in the development of the large scale container ships and the increasing trend of developing intelligent and automatic port, the port's throughput may be increased to a tremendous volume in future and the container port industry will face a profound reform and further development. These bring both opportunities and challenges to the development of container ports. There is a pressing need for the port to improve the management quality and increase the efficiency of operations. The port operation management system is a complicated managing work and there are many problems worthy to be studied, such as how to model the actual operation management problem, how to make a precise integrated scheduling among different operation process, how to reflect the integrated management about the operation link and operation modes, and so on.This thesis mainly focuses on the integrated scheduling problem in port operations and studies it from two aspects. The first aspect is the research of integrating different operating process, more specifically that is the quay crane related resources integration scheduling optimization research. The other aspect is the integration research between different operation process and different operation mode. This thesis addresses the integrated scheduling modeling problem and designs the corresponding algorithms to solve them.It contains the following four parts:(1)The quay crane scheduling optimization research by considering the tides effect and ship's fuel consumption. After noticing that Shanghai port, ningbo port,Hamburg's seaport and some other ports are affected by the tidal,we combined the research on quay crane operation and the tidal issue as a whole. At the same time, considering most of the container ships operate in the forms of ocean liner,we consider the problem of oil consumption from the current port to its next port in this study.(2)The first integrated expanding optimization research: the integrated optimization research on the quay crane scheduling and the berth allocation problem.Considering the quay crane scheduling problem and berth allocation problem are closely linked we take the transshipment related costs, quay crane coverage issue, fuel consumption and other factors into consideration, and then model the optimization research by minimize the ships' berth time and fuel consumption costs.(3)The second integrated expanding optimization research: the integrated optimization research on the quay crane scheduling and the yard truck scheduling problem.Applying of related analysis in the quay crane scheduling and yard truck scheduling issues,we build the integrated scheduling model considering both the quay crane scheduling problem and yard truck scheduling problem, and then propose some rulesto decrease the high computational complexity.(4)The third integrated expanding optimization research: the integrated optimization research on the dual-cycle problem for quay crane and yard truck scheduling with mixed storage strategy in container terminals. This part uses the dual-cycle strategy to consider a quay crane and yard truck scheduling problem in cooperation with a mixed storage strategy to improve the efficiency of quay crane operations and horizontal transportation. We develop an integrated scheduling model by considering the yard truck scheduling problem and storage area allocation problem, and then discuss the influence of this new type operation model to the container terminal operation. In conclusion, this thesis considers scheduling problem of quay crane and its related resources. We build the integrated scheduling optimization models and develop the corresponding algorithms to solve these problems. From the integrated perspective,we study some aspects of the quay crane based scheduling, such as,quay crane and berth, quay crane and truck, yard truck and storage allocation. At the same time, the research on the quay crane scheduling problem is extended to the whole route transportation, and we consider the quay crane scheduling problem with the oil consumption issue, the tide issue and some new operation modes.
