External connection joint with square tubular column and concrete-filled square tubular column is an innovative form.The research on this type of the joint is less in international and domestic.And the comprehension on the seismic performance of the joint is lack.The calculation theory and design method have still not developed.Therefore,it has great theoretical significance and engineering application value to study the seismic performance of the supposed H-shape steel beams external connection joints with square tubular column and concrete filled square tubular column.Three innovative joints were supposed in this paper to improve the mechanical performance of the normal joints:1 Vertical external plates connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape beam;2 Wedge and box external connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape beam;3 edge and box external connection joint with concrete filled square tubular column and H-shape beam.Through experiments and finite element simulation,compares and analyzes the failure modes,load transfer mechanism and hysteretic behavior of the joints under low cyclic loading.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The new type vertical external plates connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape under beam low cycle loading tests have been carried out.The test results show that the hysteretic curve of the joint is full and the energy dissipation capacity is good.The relationship between stiffness degradation and loading times can be obtained from the hysteresis curve.(2)Vertical external plates connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape beam joint have been carried on the numerical analysis.By comparison with test results,it shows that the numerical simulation results agree well with the test results.The finite element analysis model can be used to analyze the hysteretic behavior of vertical external plates connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape beam joint.(3)Through the numerical calculation and analysis of wedge and box external connection joint with square tubular column and H-shape beam,it is shown that the node has good plastic deformation capacity and energy dissipation performance,which shows that the node has better ductility and energy dissipation capacity.(4)Through the numerical calculation of the new wedge box type external connection node,it is shown that the seismic performance of the node is better than that of the conventional outer ring plate.The position of the plastic hinge at the end of the beam is shifted towards the middle of the span,which ensures the design concept of "strong column weak beam,strong node weak component".(5)Through the calculation of the rectangular pipe concrete column H beam wedge box node shows that the node has high energy consumption,high stiffness,high bearing capacity advantages.At the same time,change the column width ratio,small moment of concrete strength and axial compression ratio on the energy dissipation ability to influence in a certain range.(6)According to the experimental research.numerical simulation and theoretical analysis results,the design and construction measures of External connection joint with square tubular column and concrete-filled square tubular column node have been puts forward,in order to facilitate the application in engineering in the future.
