Objective This Study was undertaken to investigate the combined clinical therapy with three dimensional printing technology in pelvic fracture. Methods From Jun2013 to Jun 2015,we recruited 10 patients with unsltable pelvic fracture. The data of thin-slice CT scan of patients' pelvises were imported into Mimics(a professional software)as DICOM format for 3D edit and the virtual fracture reduction.A model of the patient's pelvises was developed by 3D printing technique for a series of preoperative simulations, such as designing the optimal position of the plate and screws.pre-bending the plate?measuring the length of screws, and designing the approach for screws insertion.Intraoperative period, pelvis fracture diaplasis and internal fixation were performed by micro-invasive treatment. After operation, the efficacy assiskd with three dimensional printing technology were analyzed retrospectively. The curative effects were measured by Matta and Majeed scores. The mean operation time, mean intraoperative blood loss, mean incision length and the number of steels and screws used in practice were used as indexes of efficacy and feasibility. Results All of the 10 patients have been followed up with the time of 6?18months(an average of 9 months).Clinical union was achieved in all patients during6?12 weeks(an average of 8 weeks). The operation time was 90 ?260 min(an average of 155 minutes). The intraoperative blood loss was 80?1100 mL(an average of 569 mL).?he incision length was 4.5 ?14 cm(an average of 8.9 cm).The post-operative imaging examination results showed that the actual internal fixation surgery and simulation with high consistency.According to the Matta scoring criteria, the results were excellent in 8 cases, good in 2 cases.According to the Majeed scoring criteria half a year after the operration.the results were excellent in 9 cases, good in 1 case. Conclusions After operation, all of the patients achieved clinical healing.3D technology had a high efficacy and feasibility in the surgery of pelvis fracture. When compared lo the traditional surgeries, surgery assisted by 3D technology had lots of advantages in clinic;less trauma, smaller incision, less intraoperative blood loss, less postoperative pain, quicker recovery, higher satisfaction and earlier postoperative function of exercise.3D technology made the surgery of pelvis fracture much more accurate, safe and perfect,,shortened the recovery cycle and made the patients back to their jobs earlier,so it deserved ubiquiU)us propagation because of the shorter hospitalization period, less medical cost and saving the blood resources.
