Buddhism,since its first entry into Vietnam and despite many challenges occurred in its development history,has gradually penetrated into people's life and become the moral values of society.Buddhism has significant influence in all geographical areas of the country,making Buddhism as part of the Vietnamese culture and it is hard to identify the seams between them.We can say that the Buddhism in Vietnam have paced on the road of the "conversion of Vietnam" and vice versa.This phenomenon does not only reflex the engagement of the culture in the society,but it also shows the progress of the Buddhism education.This proves that how important is the role of the Buddhism in the culture development of Vietnam and that the Buddhism itself must continue to carry out this historical role in order to fulfill its mission toward the national culture development,the Buddhism development and the Buddhism education development of Vietnam.It is said that:"Education is fundamental to history".Thus this can be understood as "Buddhism related education is the foundation of the Buddhism development".At the present,the Buddhism related education reform has been very significant,because it can make the Buddhism in Vietnam to further develop in the adaptation to the current social and living circumstances.There were five models/forms in the Buddhism education system:master and apprentice education,elite education(or noble education),translating and lecturing(Canon translation)and forest education,currently known as a new trend in the professional institutions(modern education).Since the entry of the Buddhism into China and Vietnam,this new doctrine has been spread in the new communities.The Buddhism itself together with the Authorities' support has organized the Canon translation that makes the translation condition and lecture extremely necessary.The apprenticeship mode of education is a small education system,it was suitable for only the primitive agricultural society;Tibet traditional society was under the slavery scheme,only a special minor group of people as from a higher class had access to education,so elite education(or noble education)was the best Today the world is characterized by the advanced industrial and commercial development therefore specialized education(modern education)would become more suitable.The Buddhism education system,with all its five models is implementation ed to meet the demands of the society.Although the Vietnamese society and the Buddhism in Vietnam have experienced many changes,however,the problems they are fecing would still remain the same.Consequently the Buddhism education system with its five models/forms would still need to carry out its mission which has very close relationship with our social and historical background.IIIn this study "Vietnam Buddhism Academy's General Education Curriculum implementation Problems" the Vietnam Buddhism Academy " was referred to as for case study examples.Also a large number of raw data and analytical studies have been used for analyzing the Buddhism education process.First,this paper generalizes the main content of Buddhism related education.Secondly it discusses the Buddhism theory of general education.Later,through the analysis of the questionnaires and discussions with the teachers,the underlying causes of the problems would be identified,and on that basis the conclusions and recommendations would be made.At the moment Buddhism universities have already had concerns about the general education.That would stress the importance of the schools.But so far,the general education does not yet get enough attention from the schools,therefore,the teaching quality is also affected.As a matter of act,in term of education,there are still many problems to be resolved.Since the Vietnam Buddhism academy has been established,its teaching plans and curriculum still have many problems and need to be reconsidered.The number of the teachers is not sufficient and the teachers'quality does not meet the general education requirements.The following factors including but not limited to the different age and learning objectives,poor financial support which resulted in the shortage of textbooks and reference books,the Educational management irregularities,the poor condition of the General education curriculum implementation,the poor structure of the Compulsory and elective courses would have discouraged the Buddhist monks and nuns in their studies.The studying process seems to take a long time,but its efficiency seems to be limited.
