In the history of Chinese thought, there are many different ideological factions. The interaction and fusion of various ideas promoted the continuous progress and development of Chinese civilization.Confucianism and Taoism are the most influential among the philosophers. In the process of criticism and communication as well as conflict and dialogue, they not only provide a new way of thinking for their development, but also enriches their academic connotation through mutual absorption. To study the Chinese traditional culture, the interaction and combination of Confucianism and Taoism cannot be ignored. We should pay attention to the study of the interaction of Confucianism and Taoism, but also to the study of the combination of Confucianism and Taoism.Interaction is different from combination to some extent.Interaction involves ideological exchange and mutual criticism between the two factions. On the other hand, combination goes further than interaction, which contains the meaning of reaching a consensus through the exchange and criticism in a certain area,or an agreement on an issue.Based on the understanding of the interaction of Confucianism and Taoism, this paper intends to further explore the combination of Confucianism and Taoism. To avoid talking in generalities,it is important to seek an accurate entry point to study the communication of Confucianism and Taoism. Therefore, this paper selects Zhouyi as the object of study and takes Wang Bi's Yi-ology as the subject to study the combination of Confucianism and Taoism. The Introduction part mainly describes reasons of selecting Zhouyi and Wang Bi's Yi-ology as the entry point to study the combination of Confucianism and Taoism and reviews existing academic achievements in academic circles. In the first place,we should find the entry point, that is,under what circumstances that the combination of Confucianism and Taoism is achieved or in what age a consensus between Confucianism and Taoism is reached. It will be undoubtedly difficult to achieve combination of Confucianism and Taoism only from one of the two. This paper attempts to explore combination of Confucianism and Taoism through the Classic Hermeneutics which is an important form of expression of the ideological connotation of Confucianism and Taoism.Zhouyi is associated with Confucianism and Taoism, especially Zhouyi Zhu in Han and Wei Dynasties which is a paragon of combining Confucianism and Taoism. So based on the understanding of current research achievements, this paper focuses on the study of Zhouyi Zhu and selects the connotation of combination of Confucianism and Taoism in Wang Bi's Yi-ology as the theme. The Chinese civilization has a long history and the philosophical features of Chinese culture originate from the rationalization of witchcraft;therefore,it is exactly the witchcraft culture that breeds Confucianism,Taoism and Zhouyi which derive from the same origin but go in the different direction. The first chapter explores the relationship of Confucianism,Taoism and Zhouyi.Zhouyi reveals rationality and morality in witchcraft, plays an important role in the formulation of the Chinese civilization, and also has an effect on the formulation of Confucianism and Taoism. The formulation of Confucianism and Taoism also influences Zhouyi, and under the influence of Confucianism and Taoism,Yizhuan which is a classic about illustrating Zhouyi was born.Yizhuan set up a new interpreting mode in Zhouyi, and the combination of Confucianism and Taoism was in infancy stage in that interpretation mode, content and method. The combination of Confucianism and Taoism cannot be achieved overnight but comes a long way.Confucianism and Taoism went to merge gradually in Wei and Jin Dynasties.Wang Bi as the founder of Zhengshi Metaphysics studied Zhouyi and Laozi.Wang Bi's Yi-ology plays a significant role in understanding of the form and content of combination of Confucianism and Taoism.Chapter 2 analyses the social background of Wang Bi's Yi-ology and ideological trend firstly. The academic development in Han and Wei Dynasties witnessed the revival of Taoism and the transition from modern text of confusion classics to ancient text of confusion classics.Wang Bi's Yi-ology emerged under thid background.Wang Bi finished the great works Laozi Zhu and Zhouyi Zhu through a new explanation to Laozi and Zhouyi and constructed a unique Metaphysics ideological system. On the one hand,he began to interpret Yi-ology focusing on meanings-and-principles instead of imagine-number and established the meanings-and-principles school;on the other hand,he expounded philosophical connotation by combining Confucianism with Taoism consciously.Wang Bi made creative interpretations to Zhouyi on the basis of Metaphysics and developed Yi-ology of philosophical connotation school further on the basis of the combination of Confucianism and Taoism.Chapter 3 turns to the methods of interpretations of Yi-ology mentioned in Wang Bi's Zhouyi Lueli.Zhouyi Lueli holds an important position in Wang Bi's Yi-ology,and even has a tremendous impact on the history of Yi-ology.Wang Bi discussed the relationship between hexagram and lining in Zhouyi, the relationship between the way of compilation, language, images and ideas, and their philosophical functions systematically. His research of methods of interpretations of Yi-ology is profound and comprehensive. He descried the basic principles of interpreting Zhouyi in Zhouyi Lueli, such as "Governing the numerous things with the one","Time-varying" and"forgetting the images after the attainment of the ideas".He used those methods and principles to investigate how to interpret Zhouyi. The formation of the methods and principles which were the results of the combination of Confucianism and Taoism to some degree was because of the reflection of imagine-numerology and the understanding of Laozi Zhu.Chapter 4 describes the ideological connotation of annotation of hexagram and lining in Zhouyi by Wang Bi.Zhouyi suggests that the heaven worship is how the universe runs, the value of humanity is the rules of human world, and eventually established unique academic system by the combination of both.Wang Bi attempted to explain Zhouyi centering on the connotation of the heaven worship and value of humanity.Wang Bi absorbed the content of Tao by Laozi and expounded the Tao according to ontology. His thought of Tao relates to human relations and is the result of the combination of Confucianism and Taoism, which is different from Laozi.Heaven gives people humanity.Wang Bi provided a new way of studying the theory of the worth of life and explored the ultimate existence of the perfect humanity through reflecting Confucianism values and combining Taoism.Wang Bi emphasized human relations in the daily pursuit. He didn't look down on the moral cultivation in Confucianism and introduced Taoism view of nature to the key process aiming at remedying the defects of metaphysics in Confucianism.Chapter 5 expounds that Zhouyi Zhu has great influence on future Yi-ology and makes evaluation on ideas of the combination of Confucianism and Taoism learning in Zhouyi Zhu.Wang Bi established a unique Metaphysics ideological system by Zhouyi Zhu,combined Confucianism and Taoism deeply and opened a new era of Yi-ology research. He promoted Taoism and had never given up his pursuit of Confucianism.Zhouyi Zhu unified Confucianism and Taoism affecting and interacting with each other in Metaphysics ideological system. The Confucianism and Taoism learning in Wang Bi's Yi-ology had changed and such change was positive and met society needs at that time.
