| The new normal of China's economy,“ One Belt One road” strategy and the the complex international political and economical reality offer the opportunity and challenge for Chinese logistics enterprises to foreign direct invest.How to grasp the market opportunity to speed up overseas distribution,and how to avoid the crisis,is a very urgent and important practical research topic for Chinese logistics industry.Net resource is the core of logisitics industry.Logistics industry in essence needs to expand to get the market power to realize the economies of scale and the economies of scope.To in-depty study the location choice of Chinese logistics industy has the practical significance to realize the industrial upgrating.As for the theory significance,research has focused on FDI in manufacturing,little work has been done on examining logistics industry FDI location choice.From last century 60 years,the study about FDI began,which was focused on the manufacturing FDI in the developed coutries.FDI theory includes the motivation theory and location choice theory including the Monopoly advantage,internalization,eclectic theory and industry cycle theory and marginal industry theory.With the development of developing coutries FDI and FDI in service industry,the focus on FDI transfers to the developing coutries and service industry.Logistics with finance and information belong to the productive service industry.With the Chinese companies in logistics industry FDI data empirically test the determinants of logistics industry FDI location choice,this paper trys to supplement and enrich the theory system of foreign direct investment location choice,and enrich the theoretical content of foreign direct investment by China.Therefore,this dissertation carries out a certain degree of research and analysis in the following contents:(a)The current situation and questions of Chinese foreign direct investment in logistics industry.Based on the Chinese logistics industry in 2010-2013 investment flow,the stock,the major economies of the distribution ratio,the investment attractiveness index data contrast with other industry,the following conclusion can be obtained: Chinese logistics FDI began early,but developed very slowly and unbalanced.The investment flows are affected by the enterprises operating conditions and the large scale projects.The domestic investors focus in very small large and medium-sized state owned enterprises.80% investment flow and stock focus in Hongkong.Investment is mainly around the shipping industry,and there are very few in other.Heavy assets investment ratio is very high.(b)With the Krugman Monopolistic competition general equilibrium of FDI to analyze the determinants of whether the home logistics companies make investments in the host country.According to minimizing the cost of production function,the utility maximization of CES utility function of manufacturing enterprises and the FDI conditions by the home country enterprises,this paper constructs the general equilibrium model and gets the conclusions: the number of FDI by home country manufacturing enterprises positive effects FDI by logistics enterprises and the number of host country enterprises has the uncertain effect.(c)Using 26 countries of 10 years panel data of Chinese enterprises in logistics industry outward FDI project number to analyze the determinants of location choice of Chinese enterprise in logistics industry FDI..With the random effect model,controlling different variance and first-order serial correlation,the following conclusion for the overall data can come to: FDI of China's logistics industry has obvious follow-up characteristics to foreign direct investment in manufacturing and China's import and export trade flows;the host country's market size and market growth potential has the significant negative effect on Chinese FDI in logistics industry;the good institutional variables and the close institutional distance of the host coutries can improve Chinese FDI in logistics;Whether are costal of the host coutries are important for Chinese FDI in longistics,but Chinese logistics industry has few investment in countries with the important port resources.The variables have different effect on Chinese logistics industry FDI location choice in the different level countries.(d)With the cases of Cosco and Sinotrans FDI,this paper analyzes the difference of FDI location choice between the logisitics enterprises of the different advantages and the different main business.The shipping companies with the representative of COSCO prefer to invest in the Chinese main trade partners;The Forwarder companies prefer to follow the Chinese overseas engineering projects.Based on the above research,this dissertation has three innovation points: Firstly use the Krugaman general equilibrium model and explain whether the logistics company directly invest in the host country;Secondly the first use the country panel data of the Chinese logistics FDI,the overall and considerable data,which can avoid the impact of the large scale projects and includes all kinds of logistics FDI by the logicstics companies and other industry companies;with the casestudy to research the difference of the different logistics companies in FDI location choice;Thirdly Case analysis of innovation is by comparing the location differences of FDI leading logistics enterprise two core business analysis of different logistics industry under different industries,different core advantages.The significance of this dissertation is mainly concentrated in the theoretical model,empirical research and case study to find the logistics industry FDI location choice main influencing factors,theoretically and empirically enrich and supplement the FDI research system.According to the main effect variables,and domestic and international political and economic situation and trend,this paper offer the advice and guidance to the overseas layout of China's logistics industry. |
