As one of the hot topics in the field of organizational behavior, the study of work-family interface arose in 1970s and 1980s. After a long period of research and discussion, the field has a wealth of theoretical and empirical research achievement. To date, the field has gotten extensive attention in the western and Asian countries, and the achievements of the field have made a great contribution to the economic and scientific development. However, the research\has never been conducted in Vietnam for now. Anciently, Vietnamese employees were subject to the influence of the notion of "male should master outside while the female inside". This means that men just need to undertake their work, however, women need to take care of everything inside their home. With the economic globalization and the development of society, the need for work and family is growing(such as increased job requirements, work difficulties and household economic need). Because of the change of requirements of work and family, they now need to bear the stress from both aspects (such as work takes up the time and energy that employees should have spent with their families or versa, which will affect the harmony of family life). Therefore, it has become an extremely important research field for Vietnam to investigate the relationship between work and family, and to help employees to reduce the conflict between work and family. In particularly, the study of effects of job support and family support on employee work-family interface will contribute more to the work-family balance of Vietnamese employees.Nowadays, although the study of work-family interface has been a mature research problem in many countries, but the researchers mainly focus their attention on the individual level and rarely pay attention to the level of couple. Under the influence of the trend of equality between the sexes,Vietnam, whose people are influenced by the backward ideas that women didn't need to work outside in the past, have more and more women working outside, and have more dual-earner families .On the one hand, work may take up the time and energy that employees should have spent with their families because of the growing work demands. On the other hand, some employees may also ruminate their work at home since severe work stress. These will affect the relationship and marital satisfaction between couples. Therefore, the research on the transfer effect of work-family support is also an important research issue at present.Firstly, we interviewed 20 Vietnamese employees and discuss the transfer effect and the mechanism of work support for Vietnamese employees. Based on pilot study and referring to the more mature theory, we discuss the current situation of work-family interface and work-family support of Vietnamese. Secondly, further analyze the relationship between work support, family support and variables related to work-family interface to explore the influence mechanism. Finally, the key target of this research is to study the transfer effect from Vietnamese employees' work support to their work-family interface on the basis of overflow-cross theory by investigating Vietnamese dual career couples. The main contents and conclusions of this study are as follows.Study 1 aims to explore the status quo of work-family interface of Vietnamese employees. this study explored the relationship between family-supported supervisor behavior, family instrumental support and work-family conflict,work-family enrichment used questionnaires survey which includes 277 Vietnamese supermarket staff. The results showed that the measuring tools had good reliability and validity and were suitable for related research and practice in Vietnamese culture. The results also suggested that the level of work-family conflict of Vietnamese employees is moderate, and their perceived family-supported supervisor behavior and work-family enrichment are comparatively high. The study also compared the differences in work-family support and work-family interface between China and Vietnam. The results showed that the perceived family-supported supervisor behavior of Chinese employees was significantly higher than that of Vietnam, and the results of perceived work-family conflict was the opposite.Study 2 aims to explore the influence mechanism of work-family support and family instrumental support to work-family interface. Based on the social support theory, the study discussed the effect of work-family support on Vietnamese work-family interface, by using work-family support and family instrumental support to reflect the level of work-family support, and using work-family conflict and enrichment as outcome variables of work-family interface. Results demonstrated that, under the cultural background of Vietnam, (1)family-supported supervisor behavior and family instrumental support could promote work-family enrichment, (2)family instrumental support could also alleviate work-family conflict, and (3)family-supported supervisor behavior had no significantly effect on relieving work-family conflict.Study 3 explored the transfer effect of work-family support in Vietnam by investigating 242 pairs of dual-earner couples. Based on the spillover-cross theory model, we found that (1)perceived family-supported supervisor behavior had positive effect on work-family interface, including the improvement of work-to-family enrichment and the easing of work-nonwork conflict;(2)family-supported supervisor behavior could influence social supportive behavior between couples via improving enrichment and easing conflict simultaneously. In particularly, the family-supported supervisor behavior could increase the social support behavior between couples via the improvement of work-to-family enrichment or the alleviation of work-nonwork conflict. Besides, the study also showed that work-to-family enrichment from husband would increase social supportive behavior of wife, and in turn, the wife who received her husband's social supportive behavior would generate more social supportive behavior to her husband.
