Research On The Influence Of Supply Chain Concentration On Enterprises' Performance And Its Path

With the development of the market economy,many new features appeared.The manifestations: One is the international market and the fierce competition is the two situation faced by the enterprises;the two is the rapid development of information technology makes the enterprises face more fierce competition in the global market;The three is with the customer's consumption level enhancement,the customers' diversification and customization demand increasing,so that enterprises' demand uncertainty is increasing;the four is in the economic integration and network economy,enterprises can not be done alone,they depend on external resources increasingly.In this context,the supply chain management as a new management method arose.Since the emergence and development of SCM,Many scholars have carried out extensive and in-depth research on it,and the influence of supply chain relationship on enterprise performance has become the focus.The researchers pay close attention to the relationship between the supply chain and its impacts on the enterprise performance,the extent or state of this relationship can be referred to as supply chain concentration.The supply chain concentration focuses on the relationship between the upstream and downstream should be based on cooperation,the number of business partners to reduce and the trading volume to increase by a single partner,it can be used to measure the concentration of supply chain,including the concentration of suppliers and customer concentration.However,there are still some deficiencies in the current research.Firstly,due to the limitation of data and the orientation of buyer's market,the existing literatures only focus on the influence of the customer concentration on the performance of the enterprise,and the supplier is not included,as an important part of the whole supply chain,there is a lack of research in this field;Secondly,the impact of supply chain focus on corporate performance and the specific path is not clear enough,the existing research has not yet been formed system;Finally,the conclusions of previous studies are not uniform.Therefore,it is necessary to combine the theoretical basis and related research methods to research,from the perspective of supply chain concentration,the objective is to clarify the effect on operating performance and its paths,from the supply side considerations to better promote the successful transformation of Chinese manufacturing enterprises.First of all,this paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework from three levels.In addition,this paper studies the literatures of supply chain relationship and enterprises' performance by operation management schools and finance schools respectively,and it analyzes the characteristics and existing deficiencies,and put forward the possible point of development.Next this paper theoretically analyzes the potential impact of supply chain concentration on business performance and the path analysis.Then the paper put forward the hypothesis and combined with the data of Chinese listed manufacturing companies to test the hypotheses from the three aspects,and the results expand the supply chain system of enterprise performance,enrich the literatures.Specifically,this paper starts from the three aspects and gets some conclusions.Firstly,the higher the supply chain concentration degree of enterprises,on the one hand,it can promote enterprise inventory efficiency;on the other hand,it must take the loss of credit efficiency as the price.In the third chapter,we study the first aspect of the supply chain concentration which influences the performance of the enterprise,and that is the influence of supply chain concentration on the efficiency of business activities.Secondly,the higher the degree of the supply chain concentration,on the one hand,the results of the input and output in the business activities will be reduced,on the other hand,the results of the overall input and output will increase.In the fourth chapter,the paper studies the second aspect of the supply chain concentration which influence the performance of the enterprise.That is the impact of supply chain concentration on enterprise's input and output.In this chapter,the input and output are divided into two parts: the productive and whole input-output.Results found: from the perspective of productive input and output.(1)Although,the higher the suppliers concentration,the lower the cost of materials;overall,it is found that the higher of customer concentration and the average concentration of the supply chain,there is no lower material cost ratio.In addition,the higher the concentration of the supply chain,the lower the gross profit margin in the business activities.(2)From the perspective of the overall input-output,the higher the concentration of supply chain,it can significantly reduce the cost of sales and improve the market share of enterprise products.Thirdly,the higher the concentration of the supply chain,the better the overall performance of the enterprise.The degree of concentration of supply chain is mainly through the improvement of the speed of the asset turnover and the improvement of the sales net profit rate to enhance the return on assets.In the fifth chapter,we study the influence of supply chain concentration on the integrated performance of enterprise and its path.The empirical results show that,(1)the higher the concentration of supply chain,the better the return on assets.(2)The degree of concentration of supply chain is mainly to accelerate the rate of turnover of total assets and improve the net profit rate of sales.The three chapters conclusions show that the path of supply chain concentration speeds up the total assets turnover rate is mainly achieved through the efficiency of inventory management;it approaches to improve the net profit rate is mainly through a relative increase of overall results of input-output.The enterprises must pay some costs,and they may choice the best decisions from the cost benefit principle.Fourthly,in general,the effect of supply chain concentration on comprehensive operating performance is more significant in the low market position.For the enterprises with different market position,the path of the supply chain concentration affecting the performance of the enterprises has the heterogeneity effect.The theoretical contributions of this paper are the following aspects:First,in the research field of supply chain focus on enterprise performance,we constructed three levels of theoretical analysis framework.Second,we analyzed the research literatures of operation management and finance schools,two schools of the same blend of research,as the foundation related to operation management research,we proposed the concrete problem of this study from the financial perspective,and enrich the research literatures of two areas.Third,from the perspective of the overall supply chain,the supplier is included in the scope of research,and the paper improved the system of supply chain research.Fourth,from the perspective of supply chain integration,this paper analyzes the influence of supply chain concentration on the operating performance of enterprises,and makes up for the shortcomings of the existing literatures from the perspective of the customers.This paper analyzes the influence of supply chain concentration on the operating performance of enterprises in different market position enterprises,and studies the differences and reasons of the path.
