Cracks and their propagation in rock mass have an important influence on the mechanical characteristics of rock mass.The simulation of crack propagation in rock mass is of great significance to the stability evaluation of rock mass engineering.Meshless method is a numerical method which does not depend on mesh.It has great advantages in the analysis of fracture models.The local weak meshless method based on radial point interpolation?RPIM?does not need background mesh in the calculation process,so it is a real meshless method.Based on the local weak meshless method program GeoMFree3DD developed by our research group,this paper studies the meshless simulation method of rock mass crack propagation under elastic-plastic conditions according to fracture mechanics and elastic-plastic theory,develops the corresponding program,and verifies the validity of the calculation method with several examples.The research work and main results of this paper are as follows:?1?On the basis of GeoMFree3D,the simulation method of rock mass open-type crack propagation under elastic-plastic conditions is realized.Visual criterion and implicit fracture representation are used for discontinuity problems in meshless algorithm.Bounding box algorithm in computational graphics is introduced to improve the computational efficiency of searching field nodes in support domain.Based on the theory of compound fracture in fracture mechanics,a simulation method of three-dimensional crack propagation in rock mass is established.?2?The meshless simulation method of shear fracture in rock mass under elastic-plastic condition is realized.In the local weak meshless method,the governing equation for calculating the contact action of the fracture surface is derived,and the yield criterion and constitutive relation of the three-dimensional fracture surface are established.The governing equation is discretized into solvable matrix form,and the meshless simulation method of three-dimensional shear fracture of rock mass under elastic-plastic condition is constructed,which realizes the simulation of three-dimensional shear fracture of rock mass.?3?Based on the above research results,relevant programs are compiled to simulate the crack propagation of rock mass under elastic-plastic conditions.In engineering application,the developed calculation module is used to calculate the deformation and failure process of bedding rock landslide,and the extension process of fracture surface and the deformation characteristics of rock mass during the failure process of landslide are obtained.
