With the development of society and the great demand for new energy and newmaterials,the study of coordination chemistry has been developed from the initial structures to the properties,for example,optical properties,magnetic properties,and so on.However,it still remains a challenge to explore effective strategies to synthesize complexes with expected structures and properties.Therefore,we have developed three ligands to synthesize several novel complexes with potential applications,and study the intrinsic relationship between their structures and properties.1.Co(?)complexes were studied for its solid state single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformations.In this chapter,a rotational flexible ligand attached to Co(?)atom,forming a OD ring molecule.When crystals were placed in the air,the structure will spontaneously transform to the 1D chain structure.The further characterizations revealed that the ring opening process is related to many factors,such as complex structure,solvent molecules and ring tension.Up to now,It's the first example of single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation in solid state.In addition,the chain complex can be worked as catalyzer for photocatalytic reduction of CO2.2.Fluorescence properties and theoretical calculations of anthracene ring derivatives for Mg2+.Mg2+ plays an important role in organism.It is the most rapid and simple method to detect Mg2+ with fluorescence.In this chapter,the complex with anthracycline ligands and Mg2+ coordination is used.The complex has good fluorescence properties.Compared with other metals,Mg2+ has good fluorescence properties.The principle of luminescence is studied by theoretical calculation,and the relationship between structure and properties is summarized.3.Chiral ligands with optical properties are widely used in coordinated chemistry.In this chapter,Fe(?),Co(?)and Cd(?)were coordinated with BINOL derivatives to obtain a series of chiral complexes.In these complexes,Co(?)and Cd(?)complexes have NLO properties.Interestingly,Cd(?)complexes have CPL property besides NLO properties.CPL properties were rarely invertegated in the solid state of transition-metal based complexes.The further inverstagetion revealed that there is a closed relationship between CPL and NLO properties.
