Horizontal well is an important technique to maximize hydrocarbon production.However,early water or gas breakthrough is usually encountered due to the imbalanced production profile caused by the heel-toe effect,reservoir heterogeneity or well-developed fractures.Once the water or gas coning occurs in horizontal wells,the flow rate in the coning zone will be high because of the low viscosity of water and gas and the flow in the other zone will be hindered.This paper focuses on structure design and parameter optimization of a novel autonomous inflow control device(AICD),the integrated flow mechanism of horizontal well with AICD completion and parameter design method of AICD completion.The research content is shown below:(1)Based on multilevel current limiting principle and water swelling rubber(WSR),a novel autonomous inflow control device(AICD)is designed.Then,the structure parameters of the new AICD is optimized based on the analysis of flow field and strength requirement.Finally,the property sensitivity of fluid flow in the optimized AICD is analyzed and the performance of the new AICD is compared with other common ICDs and AICDs.(2)Based on the optimized new AICD structure,the WSR is optimized and the swelling character of WSR is tested.Based on the full-scale wellbore multi-phase complex flow experimental device,the performance of the novel AICD is tested and compared with EquiFlow AICD and Y-shape AICD.Then the influence of oil viscosity,water content,and flow rate on pressure drop of the three kinds of AICDs is studied.(3)Pressure drop prediction model of oil-water two phase flow in horizontal wells is developed based on flow pattern transforming criterion of oil-water two phase flow,Two-Fluid model and Homogeneous model.Based on character of AICD completion in horizontal wells,skin factor model near the wellbore and seepage flow model in the reservoir,the integrated flow model of horizontal well with AICD completion is developed applying the principle of superposition of potential energy.(4)Based on the integrated flow model of horizontal well with AICD completion and genetic optimization algorithm,the types of AICD,the number of AICD and the strength of AICD are optimized.Parameter design method of AICD completion in horizontal wells is given in the paper and the AICD completion of one horizontal well is optimized and analyzed.
