Space Syntax Research Of Regional Settlement In Hunan Province

With the rapid urbanization in China,many traditional towns and villages across China are in a sensitive period full of contradictions.A lot of the traditional settlement are on the verge of disappearing,many small towns are facing a dilemma of development,the big cities is in the rational,unified,lack of local specialties and other issues.The rules of the traditional towns and villages can be formed as a reference for contemporary urban development.In recent years,there are a lot of studies about traditional settlements and towns on the structure and evolution,but due to the lack of means to verify the law of development of space,such studies are mostly qualitative results,and the lack of quantitative ana lysis.The result is study of the city seems in full swing,but when specifically to the level of planning and practice it is difficult everywhere.The current settlement study is often a description of text and photo,but the complex,abstract,deep features of the settlements are difficult to fully describe.For this reason,this paper proposed a "Spatial configuration" concept,and attempt to introduce new analytical methods and paradigms in the field of traditional settlement.This study combined traditional research methods with modern digital quantification analysis method,then provides a new way for the study of future regional settlements and towns.This study combined with the space syntax theory and self-organization theory etc,Some geographical settlements in Hunan were mathematical quantitative analysis to explore the spatial characteristics.And some other research methods such as field investigation,the picture record are introduced to complement this study.The aims of this study is trying to unearth settlement in the intrinsic relationships between space and social culture,and reveal the spatial configuration characteristic of implied.In chapter four,this paper will take five examples,such as Fenghuang,Qianyang,Chaling,Rucheng,and using space syntax analysis software for analysis.Through the a nalysis and interpretation of physical space,the evolution of the settlement pattern study to discover the evolution of the process of economic and social char acteristics.With the axis map and other methods to quantify these features as well as the formation of icons to display and understand the internal structure and the internal space of contact,revealing its inner structure and links to more in-depth analysis of the mechanism of its morphological characteristics and evolution factors for sustainable urban planning and traditional Chinese contemporary proposed settlement protection and the protection of a new analytical method.Finally,this paper summarizes the morphological evolution mechanism of of the traditional settlement pattern in Hunan Province.Combined with the theory of sustainable development and self-organization,the development of structure characteristics of space settlement combine to provide practical measures and recommendations for the modern urban planning and urban settlements of territorial protection and development.
