Structural vibration control?SVC?is widely recognized as an effective way of mitigating catastrophic damage of building structures under earthquake action, which has attracted general concern. In general, centralized control strategy are used in the active or semi-active control systems. With the progress of technology, the building structures are developed to the trend of larger span and towering structures. For these large-scale structural systems, there are some shortcomings in the traditional centralized control strategy, such as a large amount of calculation, low reliability and poor stability of control performance. The decentralized control strategy has effectively compensated for the shortcomings of centralized control, and has set up a new way to solve the vibration control problem of multi-freedom structural systems. For the so-called decentralized control, the complex large system is divided into a series of subsystems. The subsystems are independently controlled using local information. The characteristics are high sampling rate, fast data transmission, and less feedback delay. Therefore, the decentralized control method has important research significance and broad application prospects. In this thesis, the overlapping decentralized control approach of building structure is investigated under seismic excitation.Firstly, based on the inclusion principle,a large-scale structure is divided into a group of pair-wise subsystems with overlapping parts;secondly, the controller of each subsystem is independently designed by using the suitable control algorithm; Finally, the controller of the original system is obtained by using the contraction principle. The main contents of this thesis can be summarized as fellow:?1?Based on the inclusion principle, the overlapping decentralized control strategy and H2/H?control theory are used in SVC system.the overlapping decentralized H2/H?algorithm is presented based on the framework of linear matrix inequality?LMI?.Under seismic excitation, the proposed method is validated in eight-story and twenty-story building shear models by numerical simulation.?2?Combining of the linear matrix inequality?LMI?technology,H?control theory and overlapping decentralized control strategy, the overlapping decentralized H?control approach of parameter uncertain structures is presented.Vibration control problems of six-story and twenty-story buildings are analyzed under seismic excitation.Numerical results validate that the overlapping decentralized H?control approach is suitable for the vibration control of parameter uncertain structures.?3?Overlapping decentralized guaranteed cost control algorithms via state feedback and output feedback of parameter uncertain building structures under seismic excitation are proposed by combining the overlapping decentralized control strategy with the guaranteed cost control method.Numerical results show that the proposed approach has strong robustness and reliability.?4?A hybrid vibration control method is investigated for two adjacent buildings with uncertain parameter under seismic excitations. The passive dampers are used as connecting members between the two parallel buildings, and the active control devices are installed between two successive floors in the buildings. The passive coupling dampers regulate the relative displacements between the two buildings. The active control devices regulate the inter-story displacements of each building.Based on the inclusion principle,an overlapping decentralized guaranteed cost hybrid control algorithm is proposed for uncertain parameter building structure systems.Numerical results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.?5?Using the overlapping decentralized control strategy and guaranteed cost control method, the state feedback discrete-time overlapping decentralized guaranteed cost control algorithm is established, which is ensured the asymptotic stability of closed loop system. The proposed algorithm is used to simulate vibration control of two building structures of ten-story and twenty-story under seismic excitation.Numerical results are compared with the results of the centralized control approach.
