Design aesthetics and structural engineering are two core components in modern vehicle design.However,the differences in their knowledge scope lead to the limitation of cognition.In practical cooperation,problems such as difficulties in collaboration and iterative redundancy in design arise.Therefore,finding a way to achieve an effective cross-fusion of design aesthetics and structural engineering is an urgent problem to be solved in automotive design research.This paper takes the cross-fusion of aesthetics and engineering as the main threads of research,based on the actual design and production process of the emerging industry of recreational vehicle(RV),design process oriented,and explores the digital design method of RV that integrates aesthetics and engineering.The cross-fusion of aesthetics and engineering discussed in this paper is mainly reflected in two aspects of the engineering quantitative analysis method of subjective factors in the aesthetic category and the cross-integration research of engineering disciplines caused by aesthetic modelling.The specific research contents are as follows:(1)Quantitative evaluation method of vehicle exterior modelling for image bionics and brand DNA(Deoxyribonucleic Acid,DNA).This paper establishes image bionic evaluation index by means of analytic hierarchy process(AHP),and establishes evaluation index weight by small sample expert evaluation,to construct a comprehensive evaluation model of image bionics,to achieve the objectification of image bionic evaluation;A convolutional neural network model using deep learning is proposed,with ResNet8 as classifier combined with CAM(Class Active Mapping,CAM)visualization method for brand family modelling DNA analysis and extraction method,which realizes the intelligent analysis and extraction of automobile brand modelling DNA features.(2)A collaborative design method for RV styling design in consideration to aesthetics and aerodynamics.For the initial stage of RV design,a multi-step method is proposed to solve the problem of collaborative design of aesthetic modelling and aerodynamics.Firstly,based on two types of data of aesthetic evaluation score and aerodynamic simulation results,a reference table for the performance of various RV styling prototypes is built;Secondly,the aerodynamic parameter design domain in the local styling optimization process is established in combination with the aesthetic proportionality principle to reveal the relevance of aerodynamic performance and appearance.In the existing stage of aerodynamic optimization,a model aerodynamic optimization and correction based on the design inspiration and the key feature lines that constitute the aesthetic style is proposed to reduce the damage to the modelling style during the aerodynamic optimization process.The research results have established a bridge for the communication between modelling design and engineers,effectively reducing the number of design iterations,and improving the quality and efficiency of modelling.(3)Quantitative analysis method for users' perceptual needs for interior design.Taking local RV users as the research object,based on the theory of demand hierarchy,quantitatively evaluating the functional demand level of the users by virtue of perceptual engineering and Kano model,in combination of the vector-polar coordinate method to establish a data-based RV functional demand hierarchy tower,a hierarchical configuration scheme of RV functional facilities under the market segment is proposed;For a pursuit of high-level aesthetics,it proposes to use cluster analysis and principal component analysis to establish the relevant mapping between semantic vocabulary of RV interior design style and CMF design elements,to obtain the aesthetic preference data of local users regarding RV interior decoration in different style in aspect of color,material and finishing(CMF).The research results can effectively solve the problem of unclear needs of local users' perceptual image,and provide measurable data basis for the design of domestic RV interior decoration in aspect of functional facilities and CMF design.(4)Structural design and lightweight optimization method of RV under the influence of interior design.Aiming at the failure of the strength standards of the structural frame of the modified RV under the influence of interior design,this paper chooses the redesigned car body frame structure and glass steel shell according to design requirements of RV interior design,with reference to GB26134-2010,FMVSS 216 and other regulations and standards,in combination of space modelling design constraints,analyzes and optimizes the compressive strength of the top of RV in detail by use of the finite element numerical simulation technology,and the framework structural design and lightweight optimization taking into comprehensive consideration of factors such as interior modelling,ergonomics and so on.This research method solves the problem of overall thinking of interior design and structural design optimization,and provides practical and useful references for the structural analysis and optimization methods and processes in absence of the regulations of the compressive strength of modified RV at present.
