This dissertation studies the relationship between the idea about world literature and the writers' creations in the new period,explores the internal logic of the formation and development of the concept of “world literature”.Taking the literature from late Qing dynasty to the new period as the reference object,this dissertation investigates the relationship between the concept of ‘world literature' and the writers under the new era context,and the possibility of the Chinese literature participating in the world literature under the influence of world literature.The paper focuses on taking the creations of new period writers as a whole system.At the same time,the writer's concept of ‘world literature' is taken as the keywords and core point to think aesthetics and cultural significance multiply so as to complete the brand-new sorting of the pace and the point of the new period literature integrating into the “world literature” under the clue of the “world literature”.And then this dissertation will discuss the different aspects when the concept of "world literature" involving with shaping the new period literature,and bring more possibilities for the development of Chinese literature.There are seven chapters in the dissertation,The main ideas are as follows..Chapter one mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic,reviews relevant literature and states the main ideas and contents of the thesis,research object,method and meaning.Chapter two mainly discusses the discovery and interpretation of “world literature”.“World literature” being taken as a concept was used by the German writer Wieland for the first time,and then Goethe and Marx proposed the relevant concept of “world literature” one by one.The theory of “world literature”,which is a part of “world literature”,is explained by their speeches and thus begins the worldwide interpretation of the meaning of “world literature”.At the same time,with the help of the concept of “world” in the field of Chinese and foreign cognition,the space of the "world literature" has been revealed from the side to show the change in opening up of the Chinese writers' thinking structure.In addition,the author clearly defined conception of “world literature” in the context of the new era with the discrimination the exploration of literature.It can be said that “world literature” opens the situation of the world literary theory system,reclaims the vision of national literature,and opens a new era of literature.Chapter three makes a diachronic analysis of the concept of “world literature” of the Chinese writers since the late Qing dynasty.The Chinese writers never stop the step to join into the world since the late Qing dynasty,from the identification and discovery of foreign literature in the late Qing dynasty,to the acceptance of “world literature” by representative writers,together with various literary societies under the influence of the world which cover the whole stage of literature,to the general tendency of Chinese literary to the world literature in 1950-1960's and to the reference and surpassing of Mo Yan and other writers in the new period to the foreign literature.Coupled with the acceptance and influence,Chinese writers go through a distinct evolving development of the concept of “world literature”.Meanwhile,we can also compare the difference between China literature and foreign literature through the dual perspective,reflecting the uniqueness and innovation of Chinese literature and also getting a glimpse of weaknesses of China literature.Chapter four discusses the ideas about “world literature” in the new period.One is the national self-confidence,using the folk culture as resources of literary expression.Under the background of globalization,national culture consciousness is rising.The writers in the new period stick to the traditional position and characteristics,so they will infiltrate literature in the traditional culture,the national soil and local customs.The second one is Inter cultural.It is believed that overseas context plays a positive role in promoting the development of the Chinese literature in the world.Through the comparison with the Western writers,we can find national literature limitations.Exotic travelling or living abroad can broaden the view of national culture writers,and a necessary tension between cross national and other perspectives will help to integrate multiple heterogeneous cultural creation of novel works;the third is global vision.The “Orientalism” is different from Edward W's.They believe there are many differences and gap between the eastern and Western literature,they are eager to get the recognition of the world readers,pursuing the dream of literature to the world,and also understand the difficulty of the mutual understanding,holding the anxious attitude towards “Chinese literature” integrating into “world literature”.The writer of the new period regards the discovery of the national characteristic,the concern of the world communication and the point of the world consciousness as the concept of "world literature".Chapter five and Chapter six analyze the ideological implication and artistic form of the writers in the new period under the influence of the concept of “world literature”.In the ideological implication,first of all,the new period writers recognize the important value of national traditional culture,classical literature and classical flavor of the local customs in the process of seeking development in world literature.Secondly,the writers in the new period have seen the significance of the expression of the theme of the world in order to resonate with the world,in which the full range of human thinking and concern is the most common topic of humanity.Finally,the literature of the new period has practiced the excavation of the universal concern of human nature,such as natural ecology,mysticism and death.In the aspect of artistic expression,the writers in the new period have made a creative attempt in the direction of the world in the aspects of creation principle,style,narration and rhetoric,which not only adheres to the relatively simple principles of realism and modernism,but also accepts the influence of foreign literature to take a wide range of transformation to realism and modernism.The conscious effort is also made to the style,thus the diary,monologue,dialogue and reflection,epistolary style innovation etc.have appeared.From the perspective of narration and rhetoric,the author tries to find the direction towards “world literature”.It can be said that the context of the world is an important background for the awakening of Chinese literary identity.The continuous efforts of the new period literature in ideology and art have enabled Chinese literature to gradually move towards the world and achieve a true literary fusion.Chapter seven mainly focuses on the contemporary value of the concept of “world literature”.The concept of “world literature” gives the writers in the new period the power and vision to know world literature,and form to take world literature as a whole during the process of reference and comparison to put Chinese literature into the whole world literature,thinking the development of Chinese literature in the view of being fully inclusive and equitable;the development of Chinese literature cannot do without the inspiration and influence of the world literature.Chinese literature obtains consistent artistic resources from the cultural pulse constituted by globalization and regionalization.Similarly,the world literature also cannot do without Chinese literature.Chinese literature adds color to the world literature and remains the world's literary ecology.In addition,Chinese literature can shape China's image more effectively and directly.Literature is a more intuitive channel to understand China and lets the world people see the real China.
