Research On Parcial Metaphorical Compounds In Modern Chinese

Metaphoric cognition is an important way of thinking for human beings.From words,sentences to chapters,from the production of new components to the production of new meanings,this kind of cognition plays a role in all levels of language.Metaphorical compounds are typical expressions at the lexical level.Partial metaphorical compounds refer to compound words that involve metaphors in the process of word formation.Among them,partial metaphorical compounds are the most numerous and most representative.Therefore,this article takes partial metaphorical compounds as the research object.It mainly focuses on the judgment and constituent elements of partial metaphorical compounds,the semantic categories and distribution characteristics of tenors and vehicles,the semantic and grammatical relationship of partial metaphorical compounds,the metaphorical span and categorization of partial metaphorical compounds,and the new-born partial metaphorical compounds from online platforms.This article is divided into seven chapters:Chapter one is introduction.The introduction clarifies the research object,research scope and corpus source of this article,combs and reviews the research history and current status of partial metaphorical compounds,including the controversy and different views of "reverse order" theory,and on this basis,points out the current research deficiencies,and clarified the research goals and significance of this article and the research methods used.The second chapter is about the judgment and constituent elements of partial metaphorical compounds.This chapter discusses the judgment criteria for partial metaphorical compounds,especially the five cases that are prone to misjudgment,and gives a general overview of the partial metaphorical compounds collected from"modern Chinese dictionary" based on this.Examine the constituent elements of metaphor and the constituent elements of metaphorical compounds separately.The former elements are tenors,vehicles and similarities,and the latter are non-metaphoric morphemes and metaphorical morphemes.The thesis analyzes the tenors and vehicles by investigating the concept level and the morpheme level;and analyzes the corresponding relationship between the tenors and the non-metaphoric morphemes,and the corresponding relationship between the vehicles and the metaphorical morphemes,clarifying the different correspondences between two different types of partial metaphorical compounds.Chapter three is about the semantic categories and distribution characteristics of tenors and vehicles of partial metaphorical compounds.The semantics of tenors and vehicles in partial metaphorical compounds are summarized and classified.Tenors are divided into 10 categories such as components,man-made,nature,animals,plants,etc.And vehicles are divided into 8 categories such as components,man-made,nature,animals,plants,etc.There are similarities and differences between the two in terms of semantic categories,and most of them are the same.By comparing the number of tenors and vehicles in each semantic category,word-making ability and the matching situation of tenors and vehicles in different semantic categories,some rules of choosing semantic categories of tenors and vehicles in the process of word creation are discussed.At the same time,the tenors and vehicles of different semantic categories are compared with the corresponding similarities respectively,and the tendency of the main body of word-making to choose the tenors and vehicles of different semantic categories and similarities in the process of word-making is investigated.Chapter four is about the semantic relationship and grammatical relationship of partial metaphorical compounds.This problem can be divided into semantic and grammatical relations between the morphemes and semantic and grammatical relations between the morphemes and words.Specifically,the article first discusses the grammatical relationship and semantic relationship between morphemes.Among them,the metaphorical relationship in the semantic relationship is a unique semantic relationship of metaphorical compounds,which is one of the main contents of the article;secondly,the semantic and grammatical relationship between morphemes and words.It focuses on the semantic relationship between morphemes and words.This problem is specifically manifested by the choice of morphemes by the word-maker in the word-making activity.In addition,the meaning shift that occurs after the morphemes are entered is also an important part of the semantic relationship between words the morphemes.Chapter five is about the metaphorical span of partial metaphorical compounds.The inspiration for the study of the metaphorical span problem comes from the research results on the word meaning transparency.The metaphorical span is the concrete manifestation of the problem of the word meaning transparency in the category of metaphorical compounds.This article defines it as the associative distance between tenors and vehicles.The size of the metaphorical span is restricted by six factors,except for the frequency factor,which are involved in the classification of the metaphorical span.Considering the unity of hierarchical division of metaphorical spans,the partial metaphorical compounds are divided into nominal pre-metaphoric compounds,nominal post-metaphoric compounds,character predicative metaphorical compounds,and action predicative metaphorical compounds and grade it respectively,and finally,each compounds in the corpus is classified into the corresponding level according to the size of the metaphorical span.Chapter six is about the category theory analysis of metaphorical compounds.The category theory is used to analysis metaphorical compounds,and categorized pre-metaphoric and post-metaphoric compounds as linguistic components.The categorization of pre-metaphoric compounds is based on the category attributions of the restricted ingredients,which is classified into categories such as "figure as distinguishing features","character as distinguishing features",etc.The categorization of the post-metaphoric compounds is based on the metaphorical category of the central components,which is classified into categories such as specific features,specific characters,specific functions,etc.Each of them has corresponding superior and subordinate members.The categorization process of partial metaphorical compounds has different degrees of correspondence with the categorization process described in category theory such as classical category theory and prototype theory.Chapter seven is about the study of partial metaphorical compounds on the network platform--taking Taobao as an example.This chapter explores the new characteristics of partial metaphorical compounds in the new era through the study of partial metaphorical compounds in online shopping platforms.Through online shopping platforms such as Taobao.com,we collected about 686 new metaphorical compounds,classified them from multiple angles,and explored their new characteristics in the new era.This chapter also focuses on the biggest difference between the new metaphorical compounds and the traditional metaphorical compounds-the double similarities,including the connotation of the double similarities,the influence on the choice of tenors,and the motivation of its existence.
