A Study On Julia Wolfe's Style Of Post-minimalism

This is a dissertation for degree of composition and composition theory.The dissertation focus on the research and analysis of an American composer Julia Wolfe's three representative works,Cruel Sister,Steel Hammer,Anthracite Fields,Music style and the use of traditional and modern musical elements included in the work,combined with the background of the era,history and culture and the creative background and creative intention of the composer,explain the creative characteristics and musical style of Julia Wolfe,including in the works Post-minimalism style,performance characteristics of pop music elements.It also lists the writing styles of several other composers in the post-minimalism style,explains the characteristics of the post-minimalism style in different regions or different periods,and explores the post-minimalism map in the practice of music creation worldwide.The nature of this dissertation is a theoretical study of composition techniques and musical style.
