| Marx and Engels pointed out in The German Ideology that "people who develop their own material production and material interactions change their own reality and change their own thinking and the product of their thinking."(6)The modern transformation of contemporary Chinese society has greatly changed the cultural ecology of Chinese society.The existence of multicultural values is its fundamental aspect,and its deep essence is the differentiation and conflict in the field of cultural values,that is,the conflict between "individual freedom" and "value consensus".This constitutes a "modern dilemma" and threat to the order of social development and the survival and development of individuals.Because,from the perspective of the rules,in the human society community,only through the value consensus which form some dominant values,can people fight for the common interests,and people's thoughts and behaviors can follow the values,too.However,when the consensus of the cultural values of modern society is compared with that of traditional society,the situations become more complicated.If the cultural consensus of traditional society is based on the undifferentiated society,the unity of the value consensus in the normal situation cannot be a dominant problem.Then,in the modern sense,on the basis of the increasingly differentiated society,the “multivariate” and “diversity” of culture form a continuous challenge to the values consensus.Only when fully recognizing,respecting and understanding the "richness" of culture can people find the right way of value consensus,which leads to the theoretical appeal and practical thinking of building socialist core values.And only on the basis of the formation of cultural values consensus,socialist core values can become the “core” and “domination” of multiculturalism.Therefore,how to form a "value consensus" has become a problem being worthy of theoretical discussion and a realistic difficult problem that needs to be solved urgently for the governance to contemporary Chinese social culture.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: "The core values of socialism are the concentrated expression of the contemporary Chinese spirit which condenses the common value pursuit of all the people." It is necessary to "integrate the socialist core values into all aspects of social development and turn them into people's emotional identity and behavioral habits."(7)It not only emphasizes the important position of the socialist core values,but also puts forward the requirement of the core values of socialism leading and integrating the "identity" of multiculturalism and reaching a consensus on value.In today's world,the deeper level transaction of economic,political and cultural is the exchange of values.For contemporary China,it is necessary to nurture and practice socialist core values for enriching people's spiritual and cultural life,enhancing people's spiritual strength,integrating social awareness,gathering social consensus and maintaining social harmony and stability.As the "superstructure of concept",the socialist core values embrace the guiding ideology and value orientation of social development and structural adjustment.There is logical isomorphism between realizing a leading function of socialist core values and achieving value consensus.To study how to realize the value consensus of the socialist core values is to put the General Secretary Xi Jinping's instruction into effect,that is to cultivate and practice the socialist core values focusing on details,trifle and reality.Based on the assumption that only when members of society can reach a common value consensus on the core values of socialism,can this core values be internalized in the mind,externalized in the action,solidified in the system,and become the ideological foundation,ideals and beliefs,spiritual strength and norms of behavior shared by the whole society.So to speak,value consensus is a major practical and theoretical issue in China's 40 years of reform and opening up.It mainly aimed at solving the social problems caused by diversification of values.Values involves many specific concepts.As the cultural souls,as far as its profundity and essentiality are concerned,only to achieve the universality and principle can satisfy the spiritual pursuit and professional demands of the public.This study chooses to analyze and reflect on the issues of the "value consensus" of socialist core values.The "value consensus" refers to the attitude of different cultural subjects on the agreement of correctness and rationality of certain values through mutual communication.Therefore,this study will take the value consensus as the starting point,systematically study the problems of contemporary China's socialist core values with respect to root,rational foundations,components and the ways to realize its possibilities.It is expected to make a useful contribution to the practical improvement of national cultural soft power.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part asks and explores the premise basis for contemporary China to seek a consensus on cultural values.Marx pointed out: "Problem is open,fearless,and is the voice of the times influencing all individuals.Problem is the slogan of the times."(8)The nature and task of value consensus hid in the conditions and backgrounds of the times when it came.Social existence determines social consciousness;culture is not self-caused but influenced by other elements.To inspect the root of the value consensus on perspective of the historical materialism is to clear up the theoretical premise of research and to tease out the causes of problems of contemporary Chinese values consensus.This study explains the urgent need and appeal of the value consensus from the realization of the Chinese national rejuvenation and the Chinese dream from the perspectives of cultural globalization,the Internet age,Chinese social transformation and cultural differentiation,and discusses how the values consensus becomes a problem.The value consensus is related to the self-confidence in culture,social harmony and stability,and is the basic and premise issue of practicing socialist core values.The second part is that value consensus is the key point of cultivating the core values of socialism.As a conscious,value consensus is evaluative in nature.Value evaluation and truthful recognition are different: the latter gives the answer of ‘what',which subject approaches object,and the former tells ‘why' or ‘for whom'.Value consensus exists on the precondition of truthful recognition,but it is a criterion of subject and efficiency and following the principle of purpose.Whether the socialism core value is practised or accepted,value consensus is motivation and dynamic principle.It is more possible for the subject to choose the correct and beneficent than the correct only.As Lenin said,all human practice must be--the standard of truth,also the actual authenticator of connection between things and the point at which they are required by man-included in the full definition of object.(9)The generation of "value consensus" must answer three basic questions: Why should we pursue a "value consensus" ? What is "consensus" ? Thus,the second part should focus on question of how can value consensus be the key point in cultivating the core values of socialism.The ideology and culture of the masses is "multiple"-diversity,variety and pluralism are factual existence;the value consensus is the "should-be" effort to seek "one" in many-and therefore converge the value consensus and establish the socialist core values.The essence of value consensus is the social identity or social cohesion of individual consciousness.That is,the value consensus we study is how to form a "consensus" of the socialist core values in the whole society,rather than a value consensus on other values.When it comes to the consensus on cultural values,the first thing is to understand its connotation and essential feature,to understand the historical position and inner structure of the consensus on cultural values,to grasp its development direction,and to achieve a "precise" consensus.This study interprets the value consensus of achieving socialist core values from different dimensions.It analyzes four basic characteristics of the values consensus,namely the complexity of the foundation,the publicity of the commitment,the dynamics of the achievement and the shareability of the benefit.On this basis,we position the consensus of contemporary Chinese cultural values from the aspects of theory,history and practice,and at the same time,and mainly analyze the structure of the socialist core value consensus.The third part is the analysis of the mechanism to realize the consensus value of the socialist core values.Laozi said,"The great things in the world must be done in detail." To solve the problem of the generation of value consensus and the joint point of "multiple" and "one" transformation needs us to study and think in depth the direct reality of the socialist core values consensus and the way to realize the spiritual mechanism.Engels once said,"All differences are merged in the middle stage,and all the opposites are mutually transitioned through intermediate links."(10)The first is a general analysis of the value consensus mechanism from the three aspects of the logical starting point,factor elucidation and realization dimension of cultural values consensus.On this basis,the target mechanism for the consensus of cultural values is determined from the primary goal of building a common ideological foundation of the society,the direct goal of building a national shared spiritual homeland and the direct goal of cultivating new people in the era of good times;the dynamic mechanism of the consensus of cultural values is discussed through three aspects: Marxism and its sinicization for guiding the social development,satisfying the needs and serving as inner driving force for social individual development,and serving as the driving force for the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics;the guarantee mechanism of value consensus is determined through the three aspects of the construction of the overall top-level design,the promotion of public opinion,and the cultural infiltration and infection;the overall optimization mechanism of value consensus is discussed through three aspects of the overall social optimization,the orderly optimization of all levels,and the ideology construction optimization.The fourth part is the innovative research on the formation of the consensus value of socialist core values.The key to the achievement of the construction of social values consensus is the promotion "based on needs".To build a consensus on the values of contemporary Chinese social and cultural values,the whole society needs a "consensus" on the necessity and urgency of "consensus needs",a "consensus" on the values of socialist core values,and a "consensus" on the fact that everyone is responsible for achieving the "consensus" and to stimulate the demand.People should constantly adhere to and improve the Party's leadership over culture,and analyze the "harmony and difference" and "seeking harmony through difference" between China and the Western countries,and firmly adhere to the confidence of the Chinese value consensus.Value consensus is a comprehensive project,and any shortcomings or loopholes in any link will influence the effect of the value consensus.From the perspective of the cultivation of value consensus,there are mainly two channels: "Top-down" and "bottom-up"."Top-down" and "bottom-up" are inseparable two-way dynamic processes."Top-down" is the steering wheel.Without the "top-down" guidance,"bottom-up" will be a long process towards an unpredictable direction."Bottom-up" is the basic disk.Without "bottom-up",there will be no foothold and supporting point for "top-down" and it will be rootless.The fifth part is the objective basis and practical requirements of the consensus on of socialist core values.The research on the value consensus of the socialist core values should be comprehensively understood from the perspective of the dialectical relationship between the economic foundation and the superstructure.First,we must fully consider the economic life interests of the social subject and its role in the consensus realization of the socialist core values,and fully taking into account the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics should achieve its own value integration function through the combination of cultural forms.Avoid the purely political instrumental ideology and the awareness of pure economic interests,and commit to the cultural practice spirit of "value consensus" and the existence of human life and its realistic existence.Value consensus is a process based on reality rather than just in the mind.The existence of shared interests is the necessary foundation for the formation of value consensus.The social basis of the consensus value of contemporary Chinese cultural values is the great achievement of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the people's value orientation of Chinese social development.Socialism with Chinese characteristics is constantly improving and developing which requires the value consensus of cultural values must advance with the times,deeply root in the practice of contemporary Chinese society,and leverage the "potential" of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.At the same time,we should take national cultural security as the basis for building the consensus of cultural values,take the core values as the basis to lead the consensus on the promotion of cultural values,take the Chinese dream as the cultural symbol to condense the value consensus,identify the choice and innovation of cultural value carrier and transform the cultural value discourse mode so as to "take the advantage" to further enrich and enhance the theory and practice of value consensus. |
