Research On The Change Of Japanese Family Concept After The War (1945~2019)

As a product of the development of human society to a certain stage,the family is an integral part of a specific social system.Exploring the evolution of the family in a certain period of time is one of the perspectives to explore social and cultural changes.After the war,Japan has gone through more than 70 years of ups and downs.In this process,the family,as the most basic unit of social life,has undergone a series of potential changes in both external form and internal meaning.At the same time,with a series of social problems involving families becoming explicit and profound,Japanese families have gradually become the focus of the whole society.The family problem is not an isolated problem,it is inextricably linked with the whole society.As the initial group in which individuals live,the family also has a subtle influence on the shaping of the national character of the whole country through its influence on individuals.Taking the family as the breakthrough point,examining the changes of Japanese families after the war can grasp the development trend of Japanese society after the war macroscopically,deepen the understanding of Japanese national character,and also have certain practical reference significance for preparing for a rainy day to deal with the family social problems that our country may also face in the future.Starting from the angle of social consciousness,this paper focuses on the family concept,which reflects the interpersonal relationship within the family,and combines with the development process of Japan's modernization after the war.It examines the changes of Japan's marriage concept,fertility concept and parent-child concept after the war in three stages: the post-war economic recovery period,the growth period and the downturn period.Through investigation,the following conclusions can be drawn:In terms of the concept of marriage,The independent marriage view based on the individual has replaced the family marriage view based on the family.On the basis of realizing the "same rights of husband and wife",it has developed towards the direction of "equal rights of husband and wife".The role division mode of "male dominating the outside and female dominating the inside" has experienced a process from formation to decline,and the individualization tendency in the family has become more and more obvious.In terms of fertility concept,subjective and objective factors continue to weaken people's desire to give birth.Fertility has successively gone through the stage of death rate decline,the stage of utilitarian fertility decline and the stage of low fertility rate with cost constraints.In terms of parent-child concept,the dominantposition of patriarchy in the family is declining day by day,the role of father is missing in child-rearing,the phenomenon of widowed child-rearing of mother continues,the traditional filial piety concept of patriarchy and child responsibility in old-age care is declining day by day,and the relationship between adult children and parents is becoming loose day by day.On the whole,the post-war Japanese families have successively gone through the exploration period of the post-war family model,the formation period of the post-war "standard" family,and the collapse period of the post-war "standard" family,that is,they have come to a new round of family model exploration period.In the "standard" family model of "male dominating outside and female dominating inside" formed at the stage of high-speed economic growth,There are not only historical inheritance,but also contents that meet the requirements of the development of the times.The remnants of the traditional family system make it have a conservative side,while the economic foundation of the rapid development of modernization brings it a radical side,showing the duality characteristics of both traditional and modern,conservative and radical.This pair of contradictions determines the evolution process of Japanese families after the war,and is also the fundamental reason for the prominent contradictions in Japanese families at the present stage.After the war,Japan's family concept evolved in the contradiction between tradition and modernity,which had a profound impact on the family,society and national character.Regarding the future of Japanese families,it can be said that the elements of family affection integration are still an important force to maintain the family,but it is undeniable that in today's society where individual values are becoming more diversified,the family will also take on more diverse forms.In the new round of family model exploration,The modern factors in the "standard" family model will definitely overcome the feudal factors.The modern marriage concept of equal consultation will eventually replace the traditional marriage concept dominated by husband's power.With the deepening of people's understanding of society,relations and self,the various elements of the family concept will also be continuously improved and leapt to a higher form.
