Information hiding is a novel confidential communication technology with ancient historical origins.This technology and encryption technology complement each other to lay the foundation of secure communication to ensure the secure transmission of secret information.Information hiding technology masks the existence of secret information by hiding secret information in some kind of carrier.Steganography is an important branch of information hiding technology.At the beginning of the study of steganography,secret information was mainly hidden in digital media such as text,images,audio and video.The carrier of steganography has expanded from digital media to network protocols with the rapid development of computer network technology,and network steganography came into being.Compared with the digital media information hiding technology,information hiding technology using network protocols as carriers has the advantages of difficult detection tracing,which is becoming a research hotspot in the field of information hiding.However,the network steganography is still in the primary stage of research.There are still many methods and problems to be studied and solved.Therefore,it has great significance to study effective network steganography.Based on the analysis of audio steganography and network steganography related work in this paper,we mainly study the information hiding method based on multi-network protocol collaboration.The main work and innovation of this paper are as follows.1.Propose a method of network steganography based on horizontal multi-protocol collaborationIn order to solve the problem of weak anti-detection of the network steganography based on a single protocol,a new network steganography based on horizontal multi-protocol collaboration was proposed.This method uses multiple protocols in the same layer of the network protocol stack as covert carriers,which is studied from two perspectives: storage method and timing method.In the storage method,the secret information is divided into multiple segments and embedded in different protocols,avoiding the abnormal network traffic generated by the excessive use of some protocols.In the timing method,two implementations are studied to control the reorganization of the secret information segments,that is,multi-protocol permutation representing the location and the existence of the secret information segments.The experimental results show that the network steganography based on horizontal multi-protocol collaboration has strong anti-detectability.2.Propose a method of network steganography based on vertical multi-protocol collaborationIn order to enhance the security of secret information in network steganography,a new network steganography method based on vertical multi-protocol collaboration is proposed.The method utilizes the relationships between multiple protocols in different layers of the network protocol stack to implement two kinds of multi-layer steganography.One is multi-layer steganography carrying decoy information.The other is multi-layer steganography transferring key.In the former method,the high-level method is used to construct and transmit decoy information and deceive the detectors,thereby concealing the covert transmission of secret information in the low-level method and ensuring the security of secret information.In the latter method,the encrypted secret information is transmitted using the high-level method,and the key is transmitted using the low-level method,so that the detector can hardly obtain the secret even if it finds the ciphertext delivered by the high-level method.The key ensures the security of the secret information.Through the analysis of the experimental results,it is found that the network steganography based on vertical multi-protocol collaboration has a strong anti-detectability and can enhance the security of network steganography.3.Propose a method of depth steganography based on distributed codingIn order to improve the steganographic bandwidth of the network steganography based on a single covert channel,a new method of deep hiding technology based on distributed coding is proposed.This method expands the original network steganography with only one covert channel to multiple simultaneous covert channels,and uses these channels in the distributed system to encode secret information.The multiple covert channels can transmit the secret information bits simultaneously to realize deep steganography.
