| Under the trend of global economic integration,globalization has become inevitable choice for the development of enterprises.After the reform and opening up,the local manufacturing industry has been embedded in the global value network and developed rapidly.With the continuous progress of enterprise technology and the increasing saturation of domestic market,the drawbacks of the internationalization mode of leasing ships by undertaking the outsourcing business of multinational corporations in the past is difficult to continue.If the local equipment manufacturing enterprises want to improve their capabilities,they must build an independent global value network to occupy the high-end link of the value chain in the field of equipment manufacturing.The development of the "one belt and one way" initiative has created favorable external conditions for the internationalization of local equipment manufacturing enterprises,and the threshold for enterprises to go abroad has been greatly reduced.In the process of internationalization,the export products with good quality and low price are favored by the international market,due to their obvious cost advantages.The internationalization process shows obvious characteristics of "rapid","acceleration" and "jumping".However,the internationalization of local equipment manufacturing enterprises is not very successfully.Most enterprises are still in the initial stage of internationalization,and the degree of internationalization is not very high.If China’s local equipment manufacturing enterprises want to breakout successfully in the era of globalization,it is necessary to find out the most suitable speed for internationalization of Chinese enterprises,so as to better walk in and go up in the process of going out.Focusing on the theme of "Causes of Internationalization Pace and Impact of Innovation Performance after Local Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises Entering the International Market",this paper will conduct two sub-studies in depth from the theoretical perspective of MOA in order to find out the answers to two research questions: What factors affect the pace of internationalization of Local Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises when they enter the international market? How does the factors influence? At what speed does China’s equipment manufacturing enterprise expand more effectively?Sub-study 1: Based on the MOA theoretical framework,six factors affecting the pace of internationalization are extracted,include: international learning orientation,international market orientation,environmental munificence,environmental dynamics,network connectivity and technological innovation ability.Fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)is used to find out the main influencing factors of internationalization pace,and the correlative effects among these factors.The results show that there are three precursor configurations for the pace of internationalization: Configuration 1 includes "International Learning-oriented * Tchnological Innovation Capability" and "International Market-oriented * Technological Innovation Capability".Configuration 2 is "International Market-oriented * Environmental Munificence ",and configuration 3 is "International Market-oriented * Environmental Munificence * Environmental Dynamic *Relational Connectivity Capability".There are also three predecessor configurations for the pace of internationalization: Configuration 4,"International Learning Orientation * International Market Orientation".Configuration 5 includes two types: "International Learning Orientation * Environmental munificence * Environmental Dynamic" and "International Learning Orientation * Environmental Dynamics * Relational Connectivity Capability * Technological Innovation Ability".Configuration 6 is "International Market Orientation * Environmental munificence * ~Environmental Dynamics * Relational Connectivity Capability * Technological Innovation Ability".Comparing the two types of pre-cause configurations of the pace of internationalization,we can find that:(1)the configuration structure of deep-based internationalization pace is more complex and diverse;(2)different types of pre-cause conditions play different roles in the two paces;(3)Different external environmental factors play different roles in the breadth-based internationalization pace and depth-based internationalization pace.Sub-study 2: Based on in-depth theoretical analysis,several research hypotheses are put forward,namely: there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the two types of internationalization pace and innovation performance of local equipment manufacturing enterprises,managerial resource alertness and technological complexity play a moderating role in the inverted U-shaped relationship.The results show that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the two types of internationalization speed and innovation performance of local equipment manufacturing enterprises,and the results are significant;the regulatory effect of managers’ resource alertness is tested,and the results are significant,and the regulatory role of technical complexity is not tested.Based on the research results,the effect of too slow and too fast internationalization pace on enterprise innovation is not significant.Local equipment manufacturing enterprises should enter the internationalization market at an appropriate medium speed,which is more beneficial for them to innovate.Managers’ resource alertness is conducive to strengthening the positive effect of internationalization pace on innovation performance.Therefore,Enterprises should pay attention to improvement the resource alertness ability of managers.At the end of this part,this paper puts forward specific strategic suggestions from three levels: enterprise,government and Industry Association.Compared with the existing findings on the pace of internationalization,the innovation and contribution of this paper are mainly embodied in the following aspects:(1)This paper makes a deconstructive study of post entry internationalization speed.On the basis of defining the connotation of the pace of internationalization,this paper divides the pace of internationalization into the breadth-based internationalization pace and depth-based internationalization pace from duality perspective,and studies the causes and effects of these two paces,which is a further deepening of the research on the speed of internationalization.(2)Integrative research on the influencing factors of post-entry internationalization speed enriches and deepens the existing research.At present,there are few studies on the influencing factors of post-entry internationalization speed in academic circles.This paper uses QCA to explore the driving factors of post-entry internationalization speed,which has a certain novelty,helps to enrich the research of driving factors of internationalization speed,and provides an integrated framework for managers to make relevant strategic decisions.(3)By deconstructing core concepts and introducing contingency factors,this paper explores the types and situational conditions of the relationship between different dimensions of post-entry internationalization speed and enterprise innovation performance.This paper divides the post-entry internationalization speed into breadth-based internationalization speed and depth-based internationalization pace,and finds out the non-linear relationship between the two internationalization pace and enterprise innovation performance.(4)This paper confirms that managers’ resource alertness plays an important role in the impact of internationalization pace on innovation performance.At present,managerial alertness has been studied more in the field of entrepreneurship,but less in the field of international business.This paper takes managerial resource alertness as a situational variable,which not only broadens the research boundary of managerial alertness,but also enriches the research content of internationalization speed. |
