Abstract/Summary:
An efficient parallel finite element algorithm for the solution of the Helmholtz wave equation is presented. This method is based upon the Finite Element Tearing Interconnect (FETI) algorithm. This research addresses the applicability of this algorithm with respect to frequent problems encountered within the field of electromagnetics. The algorithm uses Lagrange multipliers in order to produce a reduced order system. The resultant algorithm shows increased performance over typical domain decomposition methods. The algorithm is analyzed on various computational parallel platforms and the results are presented. Different aspects of the algorithm pertaining to the computational performance are also discussed.; Keywords. Finite Element Method, Domain Decomposition Method, DDM, Finite Element Tearing Interconnect, FETI.
