| The purpose of this study was to report the results of a national survey of school psychology training programs conducted by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) in 2005 and to document related trends in the field. This was done by comparing this data set with two other national training program surveys completed in 1997 and 2007. This study was conducted utilizing archival data that was obtained from the NASP Graduate Training Programs in School Psychology database. A total of 212 training programs were contacted from a list of known programs provided by NASP and asked to complete the information included in the database. The participants of this study were the programs directors of the 155 universities that completed the required information. The results of this study document the trends from 1997 to 2007 in school psychology training programs in the areas of number of training programs, APA accreditation/NASP approval, the hours required for program completion, entrance requirements for program admittance, the number of students enrolled, and the number of graduates. |
