A correlational analysis of the leadership-learning activities associated with organizational profitability

Leadership resource development is failing to meet organizations' current leadership needs. The current correlational study presents an analysis of the relationship between leadership-learning activities and a leader's contribution to an organization's revenue generation. This analysis provides further insight into the relationships between and among individual learning activities and revenue generation as they relate to an organization's revenue. The current study also examines the factors associated with revenue in relation to the outcomes of two previous studies to ascertain the importance of these factors for today's team leaders. The findings of the current study are important to organizations, as they may enable organizational leaders to understand how leadership-learning activities may be associated with revenue. Knowledge of which learning activities are related to revenue could facilitate the development of a model for each organization or market segment's needs in terms of new employees, emergent leaders, and losses resulting from constituents leaving a company. Such a model could provide valuable information about activities' costs and the time it takes to recuperate them through revenue generation.
