Abstract/Summary:
Scope and method of study. The purpose of this project was to increase the knowledge of teaching and learning for the faculty members of Southeast Asia Bible College. An increase of knowledge in teaching and learning can be best achieved from biblical, theological, historical, andragological, and related literature perspectives. The prevailing problem in the existing faculty members was that there had been neither proper training conducted nor a well-formulated teaching guide for them to enhance their teaching skills.;The Faculty Evaluation Sheet contained fifteen questions for faculty members to answer. This was administered by the proctor, who entered the scores into the Faculty Evaluation Report Sheet (FERS). The overall rating on the project was that three faculty members scored GOOD, and seven faculty members scored EXCELLENT. This proved that compiling a Self-Directed Study Guide was helpful in increasing the knowledge of teaching and learning. In all these undertakings, 100 percent of invited participants in this project responded positively and constructively.;Findings and conclusions. The results revealed that on the average, 16.8 percent of the respondents had increased their knowledge of teaching and learning. Doctoral level respondents obtained an 18 percent increase; master's level respondents obtained a 16 percent increase; and bachelor's level respondents obtained a 17.33 percent increase, respectively.;As an attempt to increase the knowledge in teaching and learning for the existing ten faculty members, a Self-Directed Study Guide was constructed. Twenty-five questionnaires on teaching and learning, invitation letters to the proctor of the Pretest and Posttest and to faculty members, a study outline, a Self-Directed Study Guide, a Faculty Inventory (self-evaluation), a Test Report Sheet, a Faculty Evaluation Sheet (evaluation of the project), and a Faculty Evaluation Report Sheet were all sent to the proctor by file attachment via email. The proctor entered pretest scores into the Test Report Sheet and sent them to the researcher. Accordingly, posttest scores were entered into the Test Report Sheet. A comparison of the two scores indicated the increase of knowledge on teaching and learning in the faculty members.
