Abstract/Summary:
The technology industry has found it difficult to replicate the success of a project onto other projects that are similar in nature. Consequently, there is a need to better predict an end user's ability to adopt technology. A research study was conducted on the capability of a project manager to effectively assess an end user's technology adoption capability. The analysis was geared towards determining whether an end user's perceived technology adoption capability can be used as a predictor when measuring project success during technology infusion.; Technology projects can use results of this study to predict a customer's acceptance to their products and services. Additionally, businesses can use this study to build, purchase, and provide the right technology. Project managers can use this study to proactively and systematically anticipate the end user's reaction to a project's progress, deliverables, products, and activities in order to plan appropriately. As a result, end user consultation, acceptance, and satisfaction - throughout the life of a project - can be systematically and rigorously assessed within an engineering initiative.
