Abstract/Summary:
This project seeks to address the problem of consumerism in our western culture and to provide a method that can help Christians live more faithfully in this ministry context. The project is inspired by the theological doctrines of the kingdom of God and the cross, and explores the use of spiritual disciplines, behavioral modification, the Christian family, and Ignatian spirituality. The results of this project were measured by changes in family narratives, as each of eight families cultivated one, shared discipline that intentionally engaged the themes of "Creation Care," or poverty/hunger (which will be referred to throughout the paper with the designation "The Least of These").
