Abstract/Summary:
Court ordered juvenile probation has been a primary option for courts and juvenile justice agencies when responding to youth convicted of criminal offenses. A quantitative study using a correlational design was conducted to examine 300 cases of male juvenile probationers within an Eastern State Department of Juvenile Services. The purpose of the research was conducted to identify if the presence of certain conditions of probation had a higher probability of predicting a successful probation completion for low, moderate, and high-risk juvenile probationers. A chi-square analysis was conducted to examine the degree to which the conditions of probation were related to the outcome, and logistical regression allowed for an examination of the strength of the relationships according to risk level.
