| This project focuses on the effect of sharing personal testimony within a faith community in cultivating a culture marked by perceptions of belonging, identity, and joy. The project took place at United Church of Woodhull, Woodhull, Illinois. The project involved compiling and publishing a volume of testimony.;This paper offers discussion on the theological and biblical roots of testimony in the Christian Church by examining 1 John 1:1-4. The paper also shares the testimony of United Church of Woodhull as a concrete expression of this biblical and theological reality as it sought to collaborate on their collective witness. The paper concludes with discussion of how the project impacted the community's sense of belonging, identity, and joy as well as specific recommendations for any congregations that might attempt a similar undertaking. |
