Teachers' perceptions of classroom practices at an adult educational center

Abstract/Summary:
This study investigated teachers' perceptions of their classroom practices as they relate to adult learning theories. The study used 3 instruments (a survey, an interview protocol, and an observation protocol) to gather data regarding the classroom practices at an Adult Learning Center.; During the investigation several categories related to adult learning were discussed and analyzed: teachers planning with the learner, peer collaboration, self-directed learning, assessment activities, critical thinking activities, the role of the teacher, and the role of the adult learner.; The results of this study show that the participating teachers implement classroom practices that relate to adult learning theories.
