Abstract/Summary:
An Alternative Capstone Project: Closing the Achievement Gap for Latino English Language Learners in Elementary School is a collaborative project between three USC dissertation students and a local school district. A local school district identified a problem, the Latino ELL achievement gap, and the three person team used the gap analysis framework to determine knowledge/skill, motivation, and organizational root causes of the problem. The team then used research-based literature to identify possible solutions.
