Program management best practices: Effects upon and relationships to contractor performance assessment reports | | Posted on:2005-09-05 | Degree:Ed.D | Type:Dissertation | | University:Argosy University/Orange County | Candidate:Parrish, Richard D | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:1459390008480192 | Subject:Business Administration | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | This dissertation addressed the problem of how to verify if mature use of program management best practices is being effective in affecting positive customer approval ratings for corporate business units in the production of products.; The purpose of this study was to perform a quantitative correlative study to determine if effects and relationships were present between the mature program management best practices at a large manufacturing company, upon contractor performance assessment reporting by the affected government oversight agency.; This study attempted to answer three research questions. Why should effects and relationships exist? What is the nature of effects and relationships between program management best practices and contractor performance assessment ratings? Finally, what has the research identified that was specific, applicable, and beneficial information not currently employed by the subject?; The statistical analysis procedure was conducted through the use of Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to study the relationships among variables and supported by linear regressions to further determine and understand any detailed relationships between the variables.; The results indicated that no significant correlations existed between the program management best practices and the contractor performance assessment reports.; The conclusions derived were that the program management best practice assessment process required significant revisions, current processes are inadequate to produce the sought after relationships and that the sought after correlational relationships should exist. Several suggested corrective actions were made in this study. When those corrective actions are implemented a strong likelihood of correlations would be possible. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Program management best practices, Contractor performance assessment, Relationships, Effects, Corrective actions, Business | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
