Abstract/Summary:
The investigation of Pt/KL-zeolite and Pt/K-MCM-41 catalysts by catalytic test reactions and physical probes demonstrates that pore size and pore wall composition of Pt/K-MCM-41 can be design factors in catalytic applications. Both the electronic and geometric properties of the channel walls of KL zeolite influence its catalytic performance in the aromatization of n-hexane.;In this study, MCM-41 materials synthesized with different surfactant chain length and Si/Al ratio have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, nitrogen physisorption, ;How the pore wall (curvature and composition) influences the electronic properties of highly dispersed Pt particles in Pt/KL zeolite and the Pt/K-MCM-41 system was investigated by benzene/toluene competitive hydrogenation and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES).
