here is significant interest in gaining a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms involved in transition-metal catalyzed processes. The research described in this manuscript details our contributions to the area of olefin dimerization and cross-dimerization catalysis. Chapter I provides a general introduction to transition-metal catalyzed olefin dimerization. Several of the more prominent mechanisms for olefin dimerization are discussed. A more detailed concentration has been given to the Cossee-Arlman mechanism, which appears to be operative with the electrophilic late-metal complexes that have been used in this research.;The dimerization of ethylene and methyl acrylate using electrophilic ;The dimerization of styrene and the cross-dimerization of styrene with ethylene using electrophilic ;The cross-dimerization of methyl acrylate with ethylene using electrophilic... |
