Abstract/Summary:
Detailed studies have been made of some microwave properties of high temperature superconductors (HTS). The {dollar}rm DyBasb2Cusb3Osb{lcub}7-x{rcub} and YBasb2Cusb3Osb{lcub}7-x{rcub}{dollar} films used in this investigation were prepared by molecular beam epitaxy using ozone as a source of reactive oxygen. Measurements of both microwave affected transport and microwave transmission have been made as function of temperature. Both bolometric and non-bolometric responses of HTS were investigated under microwave and infrared radiation. The suggestive experimental evidence for superconductivity enhancement in HTS films by X-band microwaves have been discussed. Studies of the disorder of the HTS system have been made by comparing the microwave power transmission and dc resistance. The layered structure effect and the geometric effect of the HTS thin films were studied in detail by modeling the microwave transmission results.
