| This study examined the relationship of National Board clinical grades to their corresponding clinical, preclinical, and basic science course grades. The dental school and National Board Part II grades for the 80 students graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1993, 1994, and 1995 were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression.;It was found that preclinical grades and basic science grades were each the best predictor of clinical National Board grades in 3 of the 6 National Board clinical sections.
