Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to discover the impact of organizational culture and information technology on a merger and acquisition as it relates to the researcher's model. Three points of focus were identified: (a) what was the linkage between organizational culture integration and organizations successfully meeting their intended objectives through an acquisition or merger; (b) what was the linkage between information technology integration and organizations successfully meeting their intended objectives through an acquisition or merger; and (c) what was the linkage between organizational culture integration and the information technology integration after an acquisition or merger.; This study examined the perceptions of a variety of participants who worked in the United States and were involved in a merger or acquisition in the past six years. Each of the 108 participants was solicited through e-mail. They were requested to fill out the questionnaire on the web at www.mergersurvey.com.; The methodology used for this study was structural equation modeling (SEM). Each of the paths in the researcher's model was analyzed through path analysis in an attempt to identify the path coefficients. Through SEM the hypothesized model was deemed unstable. Therefore a respecified model was developed and retained by the researcher for analysis. Although only one of the five path analysis of the respecified model was significant, the model retained a statistical good overall fit.
