Series of creep tests were performed over a wide range of strain rates to study the high temperature creep deformation of discontinuous silicon carbide reinforced Al alloy composites. In addition, experiments were conducted, under identical experimental condition used for the composites, on unreinforced Al alloys manufactured by either powder metallurgy or ingot metallurgy to examine the effects of the composite strengthening and the manufacturing processes.
